Anthony Hopkins Celebrates 49th Sober Anniversary

Welsh actor Anthony Hopkins shared a new message to his fans as he marked 49 years of being sober.

The veteran actor has a long-running tradition of sending out messages of hope to people struggling with alcoholism and uses his sobriety as a way to motivate them.

On his sober anniversaries, Hopkins usually makes a video recording detailing his experience and how he chose to become sober and continued with the tradition this year.

Anthony Hopkins Reveals The Moment He Stopped Drinking

On Sunday, Hopkins shared a video on TikTok, which he captioned, "One day at a time. 49 years. Life is in session."

In the almost two-minute clip, he shared his sobriety story with his fans, narrating what led him to stop drinking.

Hopkins began, "Good morning. Happy 29th December. 29th? Why 29th? Well, 49 years ago today I stopped [mimes the act of drinking]."

He shared that he was having fun then but realized he was in "big trouble" because he couldn't remember anything.

"The Father" actor continued, "I was driving a car, drunk out of my skull. Then on that fateful day I realized I needed help, so I got it."

In the video's concluding part, Hopkins expressed hope and positivity to his followers, using his life as an example of how sober people can still have fun and great opportunities.

He said, "Anyways, I got sober. It sounds a dull word, but I've had a wonderful life. They still employ me, they still give me jobs."

The 86-year-old shared, "I'm going to be 87 in two days time, so I'm celebrating my long life – my unexpectedly long life –so if you have a problem, you know where to go."

Hopkins urged those with drinking problems to seek help by phoning a group, enrolling in a 12-step program, or doing whatever they could do "because it [alcohol] is a killer."

He ended his message by blowing a kiss and saying, "With that, happy New Year!"

Hopkins added, "Happy New Year, have a great time. If you get a hangover, remember me. I don't get them anymore because 48 years ago today, I stopped. I got help for it and my life changed."

The "One Life" star concluded, "I don't envy you having fun out there, but if you need help, there's a time. Life is in session. Go for it."

How Hopkin's Life Took A 'New Meaning'

In a 2020 interview with The New York Times, Hopkins recalled the moment he decided to stop drinking in 1975.

He revealed that he woke up in a hotel room in Arizona but had no idea how he got there.

Hopkins said per the Independent, "I thought, 'Well, I've got to stop this because I'm either going to kill somebody or myself. My life, from that moment on, took on new meaning."

"The Silence of the Lambs" actor's decision to quit drinking has benefitted him greatly.

Hopkins is a celebrated actor in Hollywood. He has starred in several big-hit movies and has won two Oscars.

The icon won his first Oscar in 1991 for his role as serial killer Hannibal Lecter in "The Silence of the Lambs." Hopkin's second Oscar win came in 2021 when he was 83.

He won the award for his role as a father suffering from dementia in "The Father," making him the oldest person to win an Oscar.

Oscars: Demi Moore creeps into Best Actress top 5 for 'The Substance'

There’s been a major shakeup in Gold Derby’s Oscar odds for Best ActressThe Substance star Demi Moore has jumped into our top five for the first time.

Coralie Fargeat‘s body-horror flick was a late-comer to the Oscars contest, only picking up serious steam in the past couple of months. Aside from Moore’s Best Actress bid, The Substance recently climbed into Gold Derby’s top 10 for Best Picture and top five for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay; the film is also predicted to win the race for Best Makeup & Hairstyling.

Moore is a one-time Emmy nominee for If These Walls Could Talk (1997), but she has yet to be recognized at the Academy Awards. The actress did pick up her third career Golden Globe nod for The Substance (she was previously nominated for If These Walls Could Talk, and Ghost), as well as nominations from the Critics Choice Awards, Satellite Awards, and Independent Spirit Awards. Might her role as aging movie star Elisabeth Sparkle, who goes to extreme lengths to try to look young again, be the key to Moore finally being recognized by the biggest awards show of them all?

The Best Actress Oscar race is currently led by Mikey Madison (Anora) at 17/5 odds, followed by Karla Sofía Gascon (Emilia Pérez) at 9/2 odds, Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) at 6/1 odds, Angelina Jolie (Maria) at 6/1 odds, and Moore at 19/2 odds. Rounding out our top 10 are Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths), Nicole Kidman (Babygirl), Fernanda Torres (I’m Still Here), Saoirse Ronan (The Outrun), and June Squibb (Thelma).

What has caused The Substance‘s massive surge in our Oscar odds? Gold Derby’s Features Editor Ray Richmond recently theorized, “The darkly comic satire about beauty standards, aging, and how they all tie in to the entertainment industry is designed to sicken as well as enlighten. [It] penetrated the cultural conversation in a way few movies outside the Hollywood mainstream have in 2024.”

Of Gold Derby’s 35 Oscar experts from major media outlets, the following 14 have Moore in their personal Best Actress rankings: Brian Truitt (USA Today), Christopher Rosen (Gold Derby), Cole Jaeger (The Oscar Expert), Eric Deggans (NPR), Gregory Ellwood (The Playlist), Jazz Tangcay (Variety), Joyce Eng (Gold Derby), Kevin Polowy (CBR), Mark Johnson (The Contending), Perri Nemiroff (Collider), Peter Travers (ABC), Scott Feinberg (The Hollywood Reporter), Scott Mantz (KTLA-TV), and Shawn Edwards (WDAF-TV Fox). Additionally, five of our staff editors believe Moore will score a nomination at the 97th Academy Awards, as well as 14 of our top 24 users (those who did the best predicting last year’s Oscar nominations).

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Reach Divorce Settlement After More Than 8 Years of Intense Legal Fighting

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reached a settlement in their divorce eight years after the Maria star filed to end their two-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, signed off on their divorce on Monday, Dec. 30, according to Jolie's lawyers.

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family," Jolie's lawyer James Simon tells PEOPLE in a statement. "This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over."

The statement also read that both parties have requested a jury trial lasting 10 to 15 days and have agreed to participate in a settlement conference or mediation session as a form of alternative dispute resolution. In his case management statement, Pitt also agreed to mediation.

A source close to Jolie adds, "She doesn’t speak ill of [Pitt] publicly or privately. She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time."

A rep for Pitt declined to confirm or comment.

Jolie filed for dissolution of marriage on Sept. 19, 2016, days after a private plane flight on which she has claimed Pitt was abusive to her and their six children; he was not charged by authorities after investigations at the time and Jolie declined to press charges.

Four months later, the former couple released a joint statement indicating that they reached an agreement to handle their divorce in a private forum, and would keep future details of their divorce confidential by utilizing a private judge.

“The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues," according to the statement.

It concluded, “The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification."

Leading up to the 2017 privacy agreement, Pitt and Jolie had been locked in “strained” divorce negotiations centered on custody issues and trading harsh accusations in filings in Los Angeles Superior Court.

In January 2017, they agreed to seal sensitive records relating to their six children, the majority of whom are now adults: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 16.

The exes, who had their divorce bifurcated, were declared legally single in 2019. (Pitt has been dating L.A. jewelry exec Ines de Ramon, 34, since 2022.)

In the following years, the former couple battled over custody as well as legal issues pertaining to the $164 million French estate and winery that they shared, Château Miraval.

Pitt sued Jolie in February 2022 over her sale of her Château Miraval stake, and the Tomb Raider star filed a countersuit in which she stated her ex was "waging a vindictive war against" her.

The lawsuit was filed by Nouvel, a business founded by Jolie. The company claimed that Pitt "masterminded a so-far-successful plan to seize control" of Château Miraval following the couple's split in 2016.

Of the countersuit, a source close to Pitt told PEOPLE, "This is just the latest in a series of deliberate efforts to misdirect, recycle and reposition the truth of what has happened over the last six years, thinking that reasonable people would be duped by these obvious misrepresentations."

In a case management statement, Jolie called Pitt's legal actions "frivolous, malicious and part of a problematic pattern." The actress is holding firm that she and Pitt did not have "a secret, unwritten, unspoken contract" that required them to ask for consent before selling their shares of Château Miraval.

The pair have continued to fight over Miraval throughout 2024, which is not connected to their divorce proceedings. In November, Jolie scored a legal win when a judge in the case ruled that Pitt must disclose documents, including emails and texts, that Jolie’s lawyer Paul Murphy claims will prove her allegations of abuse against Pitt and “years of cover-up” on his part.

The same month, Pitt also notched his own victory in the winery battle when Jolie's motions to dismiss the lawsuit were rejected and the case inched closer to trial with potential proof that there was a written agreement between the former couple about selling, which a Pitt source said "demonstrates the legitimacy of his claims."

His lawyers have called Jolie’s request for the documents “a sensationalist fishing expedition.”

What's Next For 'Squid Game'? Director Teases Season 3 Details After Cliffhanger Ending

With “Squid Game” Season 2 leaving audiences on the edge of their seats, fans are already buzzing about what the future holds for the hit Netflix series.

In a recent interview, creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk offered tantalizing hints about Season 3, teasing even higher stakes, unexpected alliances, and deeper dives into the show's mysterious power structures.

While details remain tightly under wraps, the “Squid Game” director promised that the upcoming season will continue to challenge both its characters and viewers with moral dilemmas and shocking twists.

Warning: Major spoilers are ahead for the Season 2 finale of “Squid Game,” which is now streaming on Netflix.

‘Squid Game’ Season 3 Is On The Way

It was previously confirmed that a third and final season of the hit Netflix show will be released in 2025, but now that Season 2 has ended, fans are already making predictions about what to expect.

While creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk can’t spill too many details, he did tell Variety, “At this point, anything I might say is going to be a spoiler, so I want to be cautious. But what I can say is, after Season 2 launches, I believe we will be announcing the launch date for Season 3 soon. I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year.”

Diving Into The Storyline Of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2

As for the storyline of the third season, Hwang Dong-hyuk said that with “Gi-hun having lost everything, including his best friend, and all of his attempts going to failure, it’s now, what is he going to be like? What state is Gi-hun going to be in? And what will he choose to do? Will he continue on with the mission? Is he going to give up or persist? And so you’re going to meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season.”

In simpler terms, “Gi-hun will not be the man he was in Season 2.”

Talking About The End Credits Scene

Those who stayed through the credits after the devastating conclusion of "Squid Game" Season 2 were treated to a glimpse of what lies ahead. In a brief but chilling post-credits scene, some of the surviving players are shown entering a new arena. Standing ominously in the space is Young-hee, the towering, lethal doll infamous for overseeing the deadly game of “Red Light, Green Light.”

However, this time, she isn’t alone—her gaze is fixed on a boy standing across the room. “If you saw the hidden clip after the ending credits roll after the last episode of Season 2 — if you watch that clip, it’s going to give you a slight hint as to where Season 3 might take you,” he told Variety. “I think that’s all I can say, for now.”

Hwang Dong-hyuk first hinted at Cheol-su’s introduction when “Squid Game” Season 2 was initially announced, describing him as Young-hee’s boyfriend. Both characters are rooted in classic Korean textbooks, where they’ve long been recognized as iconic figures.

While the exact nature of the game they’ll oversee remains a mystery, early visuals suggest a railroad-themed setting.

Why Was Season 2 So Short?

Cast at Los Angeles Premiere And Fan Event For Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 2

The shorter seven-episode run of “Squid Game” Season 2, compared to the nine episodes in Season 1, along with its intense cliffhanger ending, might raise some questions.

During a virtual roundtable attended by Decider, series creator, writer, and director Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed to CinemaBlend's Alexandra Ramos that Seasons 2 and 3 were initially “envisioned as a single series.”

“Then as I wrote the story along, it became to be too many episodes and too long of a story,” Hwang said. “You see Gi-hun’s journey where he returns to the game, but also he goes through a revolt. That is actually the climax of that storyline where he tries to create an uprising, but then that all goes to failure. And I also saw that aspect of it as yet another game as well.”

Behind The Decision Of Splitting Seasons 2 And 3

Jo Yu-ri at Los Angeles Premiere And Fan Event For Netflix's 'Squid Game' Season 2

Hwang Dong-hyuk explained that splitting the story into two seasons felt like the most natural choice, allowing Season 2 to center around one significant narrative arc for Gi-hun. This decision ensured a focused exploration of his character's journey while setting the stage for the next chapter in Season 3.

“You know, Gi-hun’s revolt going into a failure, him ending up losing his best friend… I thought that would just be the right adequate moment to rest and have it continue on in the further season.”

"Squid Game" Season 2 is streaming now on "Netflix."

'Sonic' & 'Mufasa' Brawl Over No. 1; 'Nosferatu' Feasts $40M+; 'A Complete Unknown' Rockin' $23M+ 5-Day — Post-Christmas Box Office Update

Lion and land critter continued to go at like an episode of Mutual Omaha’s Wild Kingdom this weekend with each studio screaming that they’re No. 1. If you look at the standard 3-day weekend, it’s Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3 with $38M while Disney’s Mufasa is looking at an estimated $37M. However, on the five-day measure which saw The Lion King prequel rise from the dust on Christmas Day and Dec. 26 in its dailies, Mufasa takes the lead with $63.7M. We’re still waiting on Disney official numbers, but not much has changed since yesterday.

Saturday was a close call for both family movies with Sonic 3 seeing $13.5M, and Mufasa and an estimated $13.3M. However, it wasn’t a Christmas of cannibalization as there was room for four family movies, the Thanksgiving holdovers of Universal’s Wicked and Disney’s Moana 2. For all the concern that similar demo movies could eat each other up, here’s a scenario of all boats rise with the 3-day overall weekend at $161M, +43% over the near New Year’s Eve weekend of last year and 56% ahead of the same frame at the tail end of 2022 when Avatar: The Way of Water was soaking up most of the business in a deep freeze winter.

More from Deadline

That said, the overall Christmas week of Dec. 20-26 amounted to $263M per Box Office Mojo, which was down from last year’s holiday week (Dec. 22-28) of $279.9M by 6%. Note Christmas fell on a Monday last year which fuels more of a four-day weekend. The last time Christmas fell on a Wednesday was in pre- Covid 2019 when Disney/Lucasfilm’ Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker rallied all movies to a massive week of $485.5M (the J.J. Abrams movie being responsible for 60% of the marketplace).

Another record notched by Jon M. Chu’s Wicked: The movie surpassed Mamma Mia globally ($611.4M) this weekend to become the No.1 stage musical adaptation at the global box office. Wicked’s global cume to-date currently stands at $634.379M.

Opening weekend PostTrak exits showed that Wicked leaned largely toward older women at 48% over 25, with the 13-17 demo at 7% but c’mon, what mother isn’t taking her girls to see Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo? Universal may want to have second thoughts about pulling the Jon M. Chu directed movie from its Dec. 31 PVOD date as the highest grossing feature take of a Broadway musical saw a +36% 3-day surge in its sixth frame with $19.2M in third place and a 5-day of $31.5M and a running total of $423.9M.

Moana 2 is seeing an $18.3M 5th weekend, also up 39%, with a 5-day of $28.3M.

After a $7.8M Saturday, The 3-day on Focus Features’ Nosferatu moves to $21.1M with a 5-day of $40.3M. As we mentioned previously that’s the fourth best opening for Focus Features after Downton Abbey ($31M), Insidious 3 ($23.7M) and London Has Fallen ($21.6M). In fact any time Focus opens a movie to north of $20M, that’s reason to send off bullhorns. Post Covid, with NBCUniversal dictating all these financial theatrical-day window terms on Focus Features (most of the label’s titles went 18-days to PVOD in 2023 except for Conclave and Housekeeping for Beginners which were at 32 days), it felt like this label couldn’t shine in the marketplace like they did pre-Covid. However, Nosferatu provides hope that the Lost in Translation studio still has it.

Reasons on PostTrak why audiences attended Nosferatu include the horror genre (48%), director Robert Eggers (32%), while 33% thought the fanged monster and babe feature looked fun and entertaining. Lots of walk-up business with 59% of the audience buying their tickets same day. What type of ads influenced the audience the most to find this movie? Of those polled, 22% cited social media, while 16% said friends and family with 11% saying in-theater trailer. Breakdown of demos were men over 25 (41%), women over 25 (33%), women under 25 (14%) and men under 25 (13%). The best grades for this movie came from the 25-34 demo (81%) and 35-44 (81%).

Searchlight’s A Complete Unknown at an estimated 3-day of $11.6M and 5-day of $23.2M also saw notable walk-up at 62%. So far, those opening figures are the best for the Disney-owned 20th Century Fox classic label post the 2019 merger as well as COVID. Reasons why people went: 53% bought tickets because it was a Bob Dylan movie, 36% went for Timothée Chalamet, while 20% went for the cast as a whole, which included Monica Barbaro, Elle Fanning and Edward Norton. 50/50 male-female split as of last night on PostTrak with 42% women over 25 who gave the movie its best grade at 94%, men over 25 at 40% with a 91% grade, 10% men under 25 (84% grade) while women under 25 at 8% trailed (with an 89% grade).

Everything We Know About Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey'

After months of speculation about Christopher Nolan’s follow-up to his critical and box office hit “Oppenheimer,” which won him the Best Director Oscar, Universal Pictures unveiled before the holidays on X that he will be bringing Homer’s “The Odyssey” to the big screen.

“The Odyssey” is a classic piece of literature by Homer that is divided between 24 different books, preceded by “The Iliad.” It tells the 10-year journey story of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he travels home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters multiple perils and discovers the death of his crewmates. Telemachus (Odysseus’ son), Penelope (Odysseus’ wife), Athena, Circe, Poseidon and Zeus are all major characters.

Historians and scholars date “The Odyssey” to sometime between 750-650 BC. The first printed Greek version became available in 1488. In the centuries since, it has remained one of the most studied, adapted and parodied stories ever with adaptations including the 1911 silent film by Giuseppe de Liguoro, 1954’s “Ulysses” with Kirk Douglas and the 2000 Coen brothers comedy “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”

With a new adaptation on the horizon, here is everything we know so far about Nolan’s take on “The Odyssey.”

Who is cast in the film and have they worked with Nolan before?

Like the all-star cast that was assembled for “Oppenheimer,” “The Odyssey” is already filled with major talent in Hollywood — confirmed names include Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron.

Damon most recently appeared in “Oppenheimer” as Lt. General Leslie Groves after his under-the-radar appearance in “Interstellar.” Pattinson appeared in “Tenet” as Neil, alongside John David Washington and Elizabeth Debicki. Going back a little farther, Hathaway had a supporting role as an astronaut in “Interstellar” and Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises,” marking just over 10 years since her last time working with Nolan.

For Holland, Zendaya, Nyong’o and Theron, “The Odyssey” marks their first time collaborating with Nolan. Holland and Zendaya, who are a real-life couple, will reunite on screen after the Marvel “Spider-Man” films.

How will the film be shot?

According to the social media post from Universal Pictures, “The Odyssey” will be “shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology.” Nolan’s craft has become synonymous with IMAX as “Oppenheimer,” “Dunkirk,” “Tenet” and “Interstellar,” which was recently re-released in theaters for its 10th anniversary, were all shot with IMAX cameras.

Who else is creatively involved?

Nolan is also writing and producing the film, reuniting with his longtime producing and life partner Emma Thomas, who won the Best Picture Oscar for “Oppenheimer” alongside Nolan.

How faithful will this adaptation be to ‘The Odyssey’?

It remains unclear how closely Nolan intends to follow Homer’s famous story, although the social media post from Universal Pictures teases “a mythic action epic shot across the world.”

When is the film set to release?

The film is set to release worldwide on July 17, 2026 in theaters after a 2025 production start date. Nolan previously released “Oppenheimer,” “Dunkirk,” “Inception” and “The Dark Knight” in the same month.

Judge Denies Jay-Z's Efforts to Dismiss Rape Accuser's Lawsuit

A judge has denied Jay-Z’s efforts to dismiss a lawsuit accusing the rapper and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl more than two decades ago.

In the lawsuit, originally filed in October, a woman identified only as “Jane Doe” sued Combs for allegedly raping her at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The complaint was amended on Dec. 8 to include the allegation that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was also present and participated in the assault.

Jay-Z has denied all allegations, and his attorney Alex Spiro sought to dismiss the case after the Alabama woman acknowledged inconsistencies in her allegations in an NBC News report published earlier this month. Spiro doubled down last week, speaking outside Roc Nation’s New York headquarters, saying the rap mogul is upset about the suit and that “Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs’ case.”

On Thursday, in her written order, Judge Analisa Torres denied Combs’ hopes to have the suit tossed out. Torres also ruled the woman accusing the two artists that she could proceed anonymously at this early stage of the litigation, but that she may be required to reveal her identity at a later date if the case proceeds.

The judge also chastised Carter’s attorney for what she described as his “combative motions” and “inflammatory language” against the plaintiff’s lawyer, calling them inappropriate. “Carter’s lawyer’s relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks is inappropriate, a waste of judicial resources, and a tactic unlikely to benefit his client. The Court will not fast-track the judicial process merely because counsel demands it,” Torres wrote in part in her order.

Combs currently remains jailed in New York awaiting a criminal trial on federal sex trafficking charges. He also faces a wave of other sexual assault lawsuits.

The Jane Doe’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, wrote in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter following the judge’s ruling, “I don’t typically comment on court rulings. I will say that the coordinated and desperate efforts to attack me as counsel for alleged victims are falling flat.”

Beyonce To Kick Off World Tour In March

Beyoncé will follow through with her upcoming stadium world tour amid husband Jay-Z’s rape lawsuit. It comes in the wake of allegations that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulted a 13-year-old girl at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in New York in 2000. Yesterday, a source close to Beyonce told The Sun that she’s scheduled to announce her next run of shows in a matter of weeks — and they say it will kick off in Los Angeles in March. The insider revealed: “It’s been a very tough few months for Beyoncé but she’s laser focused on making her upcoming tour a success. The next few weeks are crucial as she will announce a new album and a new tour. The announcement was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago but it was pushed back,” the source continued.

Millie Bobby Brown Gives Tearful Goodbye as 'Stranger Things' Wraps Production

Millie Bobby Brown gave an emotional farewell speech to the Stranger Things crew as the show wrapped production for its fifth and final season.

The actress shared a video of her speech on social media Friday, comparing the finals days to a graduation as she fought through tears saying goodbye.

“Isn’t graduation supposed to bring relief, like you’re glad to leave the teachers and classmates?” she asked. “Not me, I am nowhere near ready to leave you guys. I love each and every one of you and I’ll forever carry the memories and bonds we’ve created together as a family. I love you, thank you.”

Netflix announced on Friday that Season Five had wrapped production, confirming the show would release sometime in 2025. Stranger Things served as Brown’s breakout role since she started playing the telepathic girl Eleven back in 2016, turning her into a global star. The final season has been one of the most hotly-anticipated shows for years, starting production at the beginning of the year after facing delays from the writers and actors strikes last year.

With the show on for much of the past decade, the making of the final season has been an emotional process for much of the cast and crew. David Harbour recalled an emotional table read for the show’s final episode.

“I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood,” Harbour said. “It’s 10 years later, and we examine that idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful.”

Blake Lively Files 'Sexual Harrasment' Complaint Against 'It Ends with Us' Co-Star and Director Justin Baldoni

In an extensive complaint detailed in a New York Times story, Blake Lively accused her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment. Filed in court on Friday with the California Civil Rights department, Lively’s legal complaint also lists accusations of retaliation, negligence, breach of contract, and intentional infliction of emotional distress among other claims.

Lively and her attorneys allege that after issues of sexual harassment arose on set, Baldoni worked to mount a smear campaign against the actress — hiring a crisis PR firm to blast social media with negative posts about her. In a statement published by Variety, Bryan Freedman, a lawyer for Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios, took umbrage with Lively’s complaint, calling the suit “shameful” and full of “categorically false accusations.”

Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, is also involved in the suit, as he was reportedly in attendance at a meeting held during production on “It Ends With Us” discussing facts key to the complaint.

“[Lively] claimed Mr. Baldoni had improvised unwanted kissing and discussed his sex life, including encounters in which he may not have received consent. [Producer Jamey] Heath had shown her a video of his wife naked, she said, and he had watched Ms. Lively in her trailer when she was topless and having body makeup removed, despite her asking him to look away,” the complaint reads. “She said that both men repeatedly entered her makeup trailer uninvited while she was undressed, including when she was breastfeeding.”

As a result, Lively alleges, she also insisted no more “sex scenes, oral sex, or on camera climaxing” be added to the film by Baldoni outside what was already featured in the script and agreed to before shooting. The complaint states that these requests were approved by the film’s distributor, Sony Pictures, but claims that following the movie’s release Baldoni nevertheless engaged in an effort to “destroy” Lively’s reputation.

In a statement given to The New York Times, Lively said, “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted.”

Baldoni’s legal team disagrees with Lively’s claims. In a statement published in Variety, Freedman said, “It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its representatives, as yet another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions.”

In response to Lively’s claims that Baldoni hired a crisis PR firm to get back at her for actions taken while filming, the statement responded, “These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media. Wayfarer Studios made the decision to proactively hire a crisis manager prior to the marketing campaign of the film, to work alongside their own representative with Jonesworks employed by Stephanie Jones, due to the multiple demands and threats made by Ms. Lively during production which included her threatening to not showing up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release, if her demands were not met.”

Included in Lively’s complaint are communications between Baldoni and his publicity team that detail a “social combat plan,” as per exhibits shared with IndieWire by Lively’s PR team at Vision PR. The complaint further alleges that media operation hired subcontractors who “weaponized a digital army around the country from New York to Los Angeles to create, seed, and promote content that appeared to be authentic on social media platforms and internet chat forums” to harm Lively, as part of a carefully planned revenge strategy.

While Lively and Baldoni promoted “It Ends with Us” separately, they never participated in any interviews or press together — giving credence to rumors of an on-set feud between the two. Despite these negative stories circulating, the film proved to be one of Sony’s major box office hits this year, bringing in a worldwide box office of $350 million. Colleen Hoover, who wrote the novel “It Ends with Us” is based on, also penned a sequel called “It Starts with Us,” though a source told Variety back in August it was unlikely a film version would come to fruition as “there’s probably no world where these two will work together again.”

TMZ broke the news that a complaint had been filed on Friday, but The New York Times was the first to publish Lively’s full filing.

President-Elect Trump Transfers Close To $4 Billion Worth Of His Trump Media Shares To A Trust

Shares of Trump Media and Technology Group slid in midday trading Friday after President-elect Donald Trump transferred all of his shares into a revocable trust, according to a regulatory filing.

Trump transferred all of his nearly 115 million shares — worth around $4 billion on paper — in the parent company of social networking site Truth Social as a “bona fide gift” to the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, the Securities and Exchange Commission filing on Thursday said. Trump's shares amount to more than half of the company's stock.

It's not clear why Trump transferred the stock. Donald Trump Jr. is the sole trustee and has sole voting and investment power over all securities owned by the trust.

Trump Media shares were down about 2% at midday, to $34.68 each. At one point Friday, they were down around 6%.

Trump Media shares have been extremely volatile since the company began trading in March. They reached intraday highs close to $80 on the first day of trading, then slumped to all-time lows in September when Trump and other insiders were finally allowed to sell shares after standard lock-up agreements expired. Trump has not sold any shares in the company.

The company's stock price has fluctuated wildly on news — good and bad — related to Trump. They tumbled after Trump's conviction in a hush money trial in May, then surged after the first assassination attempt on Trump in July. They surged again after he won re-election in November, even as the company reported a $19.2 million third-quarter loss.

Trump created Trump Media after he was banned from Twitter and Facebook following the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love. Every song that I wrote, I just kept getting kind of swept away in these different dreams I was having about the past — almost like a recollection of all these bad decisions that I made in my life.” She added, “But it ends in this very happy place.”

Nick Jonas Fans Threaten To Boycott The Singer After Bizarre Tweet About Elon Musk

Nick Jonas fans are upset after the singer appeared to throw support behind Elon Musk on social media, with many now threatening to boycott The Jonas Brothers altogether. On Tuesday, Nick engaged with Musk on X. It all kicked off when Elon responded to an article from Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, which claimed that Tesla's profits are up 100 percent since Donald Trump won the election last month. Reacting to the post, Elon posted an old GIF of the Jonas Brothers spinning around a small wooden coffee table. “My, how the tables have turned!” he wrote alongside it. Shortly afterwards, Nick quote tweeted Elon's post with a reference to his brothers' cover of Busted's hit Year 3000. Alongside a photo of Elon, he said: “Take us to the Year 3000.” But Nick's response didn’t sit well with fans. Some are even threatening to shun the musician and his brothers - Joe and Kevin - ahead of their 20th anniversary tour next year. Taking to X, one person wrote: “20-year anniversary tour but I just cannot give my support to this.” “Yeah, I'll keep my money next tour around thanks,” another wrote.

Kevin Costner Breaks His Silence On Yellowstone Finale

Kevin Costner has broken his silence on the shock Yellowstone finale and his rumored feud with former co-star Luke Grimes. Costner, who left the show amid a rift with showrunner Taylor Sheridan, stepped out in Aspen just days after the finale aired, and weeks after his character John Dutton was killed off in a faked suicide. In a video from someone in Aspen, Costner said: “I'm not thinking about [the Yellowstone finale], I don't think I've given it any thoughts, we'll just let it go.” He also shut down a question about his alleged feud with onscreen son and Kayce Dutton actor Grimes, and revealed he hadn't been in contact with him since the finale aired. Last week, Luke revealed that filming without Costner made things much smoother for him and the rest of the cast.

Congress Passes Paris Hilton-Backed Bill To Protect Minors At Rehab Facilities

Lawmakers passed legislation backed by Paris Hilton that’s designed to stem the abuse of minors at rehabs and residential youth facilities. The Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act cleared the House yesterday by a vote of 373-33 and will now head to President Biden’s desk. Hilton had lobbied Capitol Hill multiple times to urge lawmakers to support the legislation. The bill creates an interagency Federal Work Group on Youth Residential Programs to implement best practices on the care, safety and treatment of youth in the programs. Hilton posted on Instagram, “Today is a day I will never forget. After years of sharing my story and advocating on Capitol Hill, the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act has officially passed the U.S. Congress. This moment is proof that our voices matter, that speaking out can spark change, and that no child should ever endure the horrors of abuse in silence. I did this for the younger version of myself and the youth who were senselessly taken from us by the Troubled Teen Industry.”

Diddy Tapes Spark Bidding War From Stars Over Fears Names Will Be Released, Claims Daniel Baldwin

Daniel Baldwin claimed celebrities are in a bidding war over alleged Diddy tapes amid fears their alleged participation at the rapper's parties will be revealed. During an appearance on the PBD Podcast, Baldwin said the alleged footage was being sold directly to those appearing in the tapes. “He has videos of the parties,” he said. “Now, what I've heard, which I don't know how much of it is in mainstream media, I don't really follow the story that much,” he said. “But what I've heard from friends that are attorneys, friends of mine, that have represented me before, agents and so on, is that there's a bidding war going on right now,” he claimed. “They're driving that price up. Because if you want your client and your famous actor to not be involved, or famous singer, to not come out, here's the price. And that they're just selling to the individuals that are in those. This is what I've heard. They're selling those videos,” he said.

Roger Goodell Says NFL's Relationship With Jay-Z Is Not Changing Amid Rape Allegations

The NFL is sticking with Jay-Z and his media company Roc Nation, commissioner Roger Goodell said, amid the recent rape allegations against the rapper. Goodell said that the league is aware of the civil lawsuit recently filed against Jay-Z for allegedly participating with Sean “Diddy” Combs in the rape of a 13-year-old girl — but that Jay-Z's relationship with the league will remain intact. Goodell addressed the rape allegations after wrapping up the NFL’s winter meeting on Wednesday. “We're aware of the civil allegations and Jay-Z's really strong response to that. We know the litigation is happening now. From our standpoint, our relationship is not changing with them, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl,” Goodell said.

Adam Sandler Confirms Eminem's Role In Happy Gilmore 2

Adam Sandler has confirmed that Eminem will appear in Happy Gilmore 2. Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Sandler revealed that production on the sequel has wrapped and it could premiere on Netflix as early as July 2025. Despite being told not to share details, Sandler playfully allowed host Dan Patrick—who also has a role in the movie—to mention Eminem's cameo. The two praised the rapper, with Sandler saying, "Eminem was cool, he came by, he was great."

Jamie Foxx Claims He Left Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Parties Early

Jamie Foxx claimed that he left Sean “Diddy” Combs' parties early. In his new Netflix special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was..., the actor opened up about what happened when he suffered a medical emergency in April 2023, revealing it was a brain bleed and stroke. In the stand-up special, he also addressed rumors that Combs - who is currently in jail awaiting trial on three felony charges, including sex trafficking - was involved in his health emergency. "The internet said Puffy (Combs) tried to kill me," Foxx said. "That's what the internet was saying. I know what you thinking, 'Did he?'" "Hell no, I left them parties early," he joked. "I was out by 9. Something don't look right. It's slippery in here!" Foxx was seemingly referring to the fact that when police raided Combs' home earlier this year, they found items including AR-15s, drugs and "more than 1000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant."

Jim Carrey Wants To Reprise His 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' Role Under One Condition

Jim Carrey has an idea of how he can reprise his role as The Grinch after starring in the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas. In a new interview, he said he would want to play the Dr. Seuss-created character again, but with one major change. “Oh, gosh, you know, if we could figure out the Grinch,” Carrey told ComicBook when asked what character he would like to play again. “The thing about it is, on the day, I do that with a ton of makeup and can hardly breathe. It was an extremely excruciating process.” He continued, “The children were in my mind all the time. ‘It’s for the kids. It’s for the kids. It’s for the kids.’ And now, with motion capture and things like that, I could be free to do other things. Anything is possible in this world.”

Stephen A. Smith Defends Jay-Z

Stephen A. Smith launched into a passionate defense of his friend Jay-Z after the rapper was accused of raping a girl when she was just 13. A woman who previously sued Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging she was raped at an awards show after-party in 2000, amended the lawsuit Sunday to claim that Jay-Z was also at the party and participated in the sexual assault. Smith, who claims to have known Jay-Z for 25 years, insists there is “no way in hell” he can believe the musician is guilty of such an offense. “I can't believe for one second that he would ever be associated with an allegation like this,” he said. “Rape? First of all, I wouldn't believe that. Secondly, a 13-year-old? No.” Smith continued: “Anybody who's been around Jay-Z and knows him, has seen him come to the defense of the most helpless among us - the children.”

Pregnant Megan Fox And Machine Gun Kelly Split Weeks After Baby News

TMZ is reporting that pregnant Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have split. 50 Cent Leads Calls For Jay-Z To Lose NFL Super Bowl Deal Amid Rape Allegations

50 Cent has taken a brutal swipe at Jay-Z after suggesting the rapper should no longer produce the Super Bowl halftime show amid claims that he raped a minor. Jay-Z has been accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards in a civil lawsuit filed on Sunday. Jay-Z has received no sympathy from 50 Cent. 50, who is working on a tell-all Netflix docuseries about the sex trafficking and racketeering offenses Diddy has been charged with, has had a long-running feud with 50 cent after the two traded insults on some of their tracks in the late 1990s. 50 Cent wrote on Instagram: “Ok I don’t know what’s going on, but are we gonna still have the Super Bowl [halftime show] *worried emoji* I’m just asking for a friend!”

Chris Evans Returning To Marvel For "Avengers: Doomsday"

Chris Evans is coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the Joe and Anthony Russo directed Avengers: Doomsday. At this point in time, the role isn’t entirely clear, but sources say Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson character will also return as Captain America. Evans in the Captain America costume seems less likely. However, it wouldn’t be a shock if he reprises Steve Rogers. Evans recently had a cameo in the MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine. Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on May 1, 2026. The Russos have Avengers: Secret Wars happening in May 2027.

Margot Robbie Insisted On 'Wolf Of Wall Street' Nude Scene

Margot Robbie just revealed that her full-frontal nude scene in “The Wolf of Wall Street” was her idea. Robbie talked about making the 2013 Martin Scorsese movie during an interview with Ben Mankiewicz for his Turner Classic Movies podcast “Talking Pictures.” Robbie said that Scorsese suggested she might want to wear a robe rather than be fully naked in the scene, but she turned him down. “[Scorsese] said, ‘Maybe you can be wearing a robe if you’re not comfortable.’ But that’s not what she would do in that scene,” Robbie said. Robbie, who was only 22 when she filmed “The Wolf of Wall Street,” played Naomi Lapaglia, the straight-shooting vixen wife of Jordan Belfort, the stock-trading con man played by Leonardo DiCaprio. “The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked — that’s the card she’s playing right now,” Robbie added of Naomi’s full-frontal nudity.

A single image showed him underwater, wearing black briefs while a diver in full gear floated nearby. Cruise seemed to be holding some sort of device to his mouth as a cloud of bubbles rose above his head. In a caption to his Instagram followers, he wrote, “The training and preparation we put into this film is a culmination of all before it. From the depths, to the skies, I can’t wait to share more with you.” Deeper's plot sees an astronaut confronted by a frightening force during a deep dive into an uncharted channel.

Flavor Flav Shares Thoughts On Chappell Roan Speaking Out On Fan Interactions

Flavor Flav is providing a different perspective on how Chappell Roan has handled fans who don’t respect her boundaries. During an appearance on TMZ‘s Merry Elfin’ Christmas special looking back at 2024, Flav addressed Roan’s statements about her interactions with fans. “Honestly, I do think it’s one of the biggest mistakes she can make because it’s all of the people that make her who she is to society. If people can take their time out for you, you should be able to take your time out for them,” he shared, adding, “I get scared when nobody come up asking for a selfie. I get nervous! I’m like, ‘What did I do? I got on the right clock today?'” Earlier this year, Roan called out behavior from her fans via social media posts. In a pair of TikToks, she made it clear that regardless of whether or not “abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous,” she will not tolerate the behavior. “That doesn’t make it OK. That doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean I want it, doesn’t mean I like it.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger's LA Home Swatted On Thanksgiving

Arnold Schwarzenegger's LA home was swarmed by police on Thanksgiving Day after a prankster claimed a bomb had been placed in his mailbox. The LAPD rushed to Arnold’s mansion after a prank call claimed the device had been planted - but upon inspection of the mailbox and surrounding area, no bomb was found. Officers spoke with the actor’s security team who said it would be virtually impossible to plant a bomb at his home given his extensive camera surveillance and 24 hour protection. Arny wasn’t home at the time of the incident, getting in a workout at the gym ahead of his celebrations. The LAPD are treating the incident as swatting - the practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to an address.

Nick Cannon Diagnosed With Mental Health Condition

Nick Cannon revealed that he has been diagnosed with a mental health condition. Nick, who has fathered 12 children by six women including Mariah Carey and Bre Tiesi, recently announced on his Counsel Culture podcast that he suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). Suffers have an unreasonably high sense of self-importance, and they tend to seek out attention from others. People with narcissistic personality disorder may also have difficulty caring for the feelings of other people. Although it's currently believed that narcissistic personality disorder, like other personality disorders, is a lifelong condition, the symptoms can improve with aggressive therapy. While serving Thanksgiving dinners at the Los Angeles Mission on Wednesday, Cannon told People that he had always suspected he might have undiagnosed mental health conditions. “I still don't understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it. I did a bunch of tests,” he said. “I've been diagnosed with ADHD. Even as a kid it was dyslexia, but just knowing that I'm just a neurodivergent individual, I kind of always knew.” Nick said his newly diagnosed condition gives him a new opportunity to improve himself and his life. “I feel like there's so many labels out there, but it's like, to be able to embrace it and say, ‘Look, I'm healing. I need help. Show me.’ I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way,” he explained. “To be able to say I'm an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too.”
