Mark Wahlberg Slammed For Presenting 2023 SAG Award To Asian Cast After Hate Crimes When He Was 16

The 2023 SAG Awards show is catching heat for Mark Wahlberg’s role in the ceremony; he presenting a trophy to the predominantly Asian cast of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” — 35 years after he was accused of hate crimes against Asians. In 1988, Mark was convicted for assaults he committed in Boston, when he was 16, toward two Vietnamese American men. Wahlberg hit Thanh Lam in the head with a stick while trying to steal alcohol and punched Johnny Trinh in the face. He said he was high at the time. He was charged as an adult with attempted murder and sentenced to two years on felony assault, but served only 45 days. In 2014, he applied for a pardon — a bid he dropped in 2016. But that wasn’t the only racist attack Wahlberg committed. In 1986, Wahlberg and his white friends started throwing rocks and shouting racial epithets at a group of mostly black fourth grade students on a field trip to the beach and chased them down the street. Wahlberg was not tried and convicted for this incident, but he was found guilty of violating the civil rights of his victims. At Sunday’s SAG Awards, Wahlberg presented the final award of the evening for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture to the mostly Asian cast of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” — including Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh and Vietnamese actor Ke Huy Quan.

White House Gives Agencies 30 Days To Purge TikTok From Gov't Devices

The White House has instructed federal agencies to uninstall TikTok from all government devices within 30 days, citing concerns that the Chinese Communist Party may obtain access to US data through the Beijing-owned social media platform. The Office of Management and Budget issued a memo to the heads of executive departments and agencies, mandating the removal of TikTok. This action was taken in compliance with the No TikTok on Government Devices Act, which was passed by Congress late last year and required the development of standards for removing the social media platform.

Lady Gaga Is Sued By Dog Theft Accomplice For Not Paying $500K Reward

You know how Lady Gaga's two French bulldogs were stolen a while back? Well, she offered a reward of $500,000 to whoever returned them, "no questions asked." Now, the woman who returned the dogs is suing Gaga for that reward. Jennifer McBride claims that she wants the $500K and is also seeking triple the damages, which adds up to $1.5 million because she believes the reward was misleading. The Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, Michele Hanisee, told TMZ that McBride was actually aware that the dogs were stolen when she returned them to Gaga. In fact, she had known the men who were involved in the shooting for years. For a quick recap, Gaga's dogs were taken from her dog walker, Ryan Fischer, at gunpoint in L.A. by several men who shot him in the process. They only took two of the three dogs, leaving Fischer shot and injured on the sidewalk. McBride returned the dogs to Gaga at the LAPD Olympic Community station two days after they were taken, and was later charged with receiving stolen property in connection to the theft.

The restaurant describes itself as “casual but fancy” where “work gear, activewear, singlets, and thongs (flip-flops)” are forbidden.

Kevin Costner's Attorney Slams Lie As The Fate Of Yellowstone Hangs In The Balance

In the wake of Deadline alleging early this month that Yellowstone star Kevin Costner only wanted to work one week on the back half of Paramount Network drama’s fifth season, the actor’s rep says this isn’t the case. “The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of Season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie,” attorney Marty Singer told Puck News. “It’s ridiculous — and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second. As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”

Liam Neeson Felt Uncomfortable On The View

Liam Neeson recently appeared on “The View” to promote his starring role in “Marlow.” The segment mostly focused on co-host Joy Behar's love for Neeson and included a montage of clips that showed her making on-air comments such as: “I would just like to have my ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson.” Referencing his movie Taken, one of her co-hosts even joked: “Joy wants to get taken by you.” But while the audience laughed, Neeson didn't seem to see the funny side to the comment and looked rather uncomfortable. Neeson told Rolling Stone: “I was in the dressing room drinking a cup of tea, turned the TV up, and I thought, oh, this will be great. They're talking about gun violence in America, and I agree that it's an American problem. I go onstage and join the ladies during the break, and I was congratulating them on this discussion. And then our segment starts, and it's just all this BS with Joy and Liam Neeson and having a crush, and I've known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn't impressed. I'm uncomfortable in those situations, you know?”

According to a source in California, Meghan spent the last few days upset and overwhelmed over how she was portrayed. The source told The Spectator that the Duchess of Sussex “is annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all.”

The charges filed against Alec Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed in connection to the "Rust" movie set shooting are changing. Court documents show that both will now only be charged with involuntary manslaughter without a firearm enhancement charge. Priscilla Presley Isn't Speaking To Granddaughter Rile Keough After Contesting Lisa Marie Will

Elvis Presley's widow Priscilla is no longer on speaking terms with her granddaughter Riley Keough - because of the ongoing dispute over her daughter Lisa Marie Presley's will, according to insiders. Priscilla and Keough are the principles of the heated legal battle, which has played out through the two parties' lawyers over the past month. The sudden death of Lisa Marie last month started the saga, after it was revealed that the star had changed the terms of her will to make daughter Riley and son Benjamin - who died by suicide in 2020 - her sole heirs. The change was made in 2016, and saw Priscilla removed from the will entirely. Yesterday, an insider close to the family revealed that Priscilla is longer speaking to her granddaughter. “Riley has been mourning the loss of her mother and is heartbroken to have to deal with a trust dispute with a family member,” the anonymous source told Entertainment Tonight. “Priscilla is adamant that she has a valid case and that she will prevail in court. Riley and Priscilla aren't communicating at this time, but have been in communication through lawyers.”

Bruce Willis' Family Announce He Has Dementia

Bruce Willis' family announced that the actor has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) - less than a year after he retired from acting due to his battle with brain disorder, aphasia. Willis withdrew from acting last year as he began his fight with the illness that caused his language abilities to deteriorate - and now his condition has progressed. FTD affects the lobes of the brain behind the forehead, which deal with behavior, problem-solving, planning and emotions - with symptoms including personality changes, obsessive behavior and speaking difficulties. The statement, from his wife Emma Heming, ex-wife Demi Moore and five daughters and posted on The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration's website read: “Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis. In the spirit of that, we wanted to give you an update about our beloved husband, father and friend since we now have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing. Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis. FTD is a cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and can strike anyone. For people under 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because getting the diagnosis can take years, FTD is likely much more prevalent than we know. Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead. As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research.”

Chris told former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci on his podcast, “Open Book with Anthony Scaramucci,” “I had to accept [my firing] because I was going to kill everybody, including myself. Megan Fox Deletes Her Instagram Hours After Hinting at Machine Gun Kelly Split

Megan Fox is removing her online presence — at least, for the moment.

The actress, 36, deleted her Instagram account on Sunday afternoon, hours after she shared a post on the social platform that hinted at a possible breakup between herself and Machine Gun Kelly.

In the post, Fox uploaded a series of photos of herself and a video of an envelope being burned in a fire pit.

She captioned it with lyrics from Beyoncé's 2016 album Lemonade, writing, "You can taste the dishonesty/ it's all over your breath."

In the comments section of Fox's last post, before she went off the grid, one fan suggested that Kelly, 32, was unfaithful in the couple's relationship, writing, "He probably got with Sophie."

In response, Fox joked that it could've been her, commenting, "Maybe I got with Sophie" alongside a single fire emoji.

Fox was absent from the Sports Illustrated Super Bowl Party on Saturday night, where Kelly performed, a source told PEOPLE. However, the pair attended Drake's party together on Friday.

The Till Death star had also wiped all photographs and videos of herself and Kelly from her Instagram page, including a post announcing their engagement in January 2022. (Kelly, meanwhile, still has posts featuring Fox on his profile.) Fox also followed Eminem, who has publicly feuded with Kelly for years, before she deleted her account. That brought her total follow count to three.

Representatives for both Fox and Kelly did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's prior request for comment.

U2 to Perform at New Vegas 'Sphere' for First Live Concerts in 4 Years After Super Bowl Ad Launch

U2 made a big announcement at Super Bowl 2023.

During the fourth quarter of the big game on Sunday, the legendary rock band released a commercial titled "U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere," informing fans that it will launch a brand-new venue in Las Vegas at The Venetian resort this fall.

The band will open the new venue, MSG Sphere, with its first live performance in four years.

Along with the reveal, U2 had a bit of sad news: Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. will not be joining the band, as he's needing time off to undergo and recuperate from surgery.

For the shows at the all-new space, drummer Bram van den Berg will join frontman Bono, guitarist The Edge and bassist Adam Clayton on stage.

"It's going to take all we've got to approach the Sphere without our bandmate in the drum seat, but Larry has joined us in welcoming Bram van den Berg who is a force in his own right," Mullen Jr.'s bandmates said in a statement.

"Bottom line, U2 hasn't played live since December 2019 and we need to get back on stage and see the faces of our fans again," the band added.

"And what a unique stage they're building for us out there in the desert…We're the right band, Achtung Baby the right album, and the Sphere the right venue to take the live experience of music to the next level."

The band added that their new residency "is more than just a venue, it's a gallery, and U2's music is going to be all over the walls."

"In short, it's a canvas of an unparalleled scale and image resolution, and a once-in-a-generation opportunity," The Edge noted in a statement.

"We all thought about it and decided we'd be mad not to accept the invitation," the guitarist added of U2's upcoming shows to open the venue.

MSG Sphere at the Venetian holds 17,500 seats and features a scalable capacity up to 20,000 guests. The venue features a new 16K screen that "wraps up, around, and behind the audience," per a release. More information about the venue is available here, and the full trailer is available to view here.

Rihanna Is Pregnant with Second Baby, Reveals Bump During Super Bowl 2023 Halftime Show

Rihanna is pregnant with her second baby, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The 34-year-old 2023 Super Bowl Halftime performer took the stage in Phoenix Sunday dressed head-to-toe in bright red, revealing a baby bump, and becoming the first pregnant woman to star in the halftime show.

Rihanna played up the big reveal in the opening moments of her performance, rubbing her stomach and leaving the zipper of her outfit — a jumpsuit layered over a close-fitting bodysuit and sculpted bandeau — down to reveal her belly.

A rep for Rihanna confirmed the news to PEOPLE Sunday night.

The Grammy winner and her beau, rapper A$AP Rocky, welcomed their first child in May 2022.

He was seen excitedly supporting her on the sidelines during the halftime show, filming her performance and dancing along.

Rihanna first revealed in January 2022 that she was expecting her first child with Rocky, 33. After she was photographed debuting her baby bump in New York City, a source told PEOPLE that Rihanna is "excited to be a mom" and "couldn't be happier."

"Everything Rihanna does, she does it her own way on her own time table, and having a baby is no different," the source said, adding that the couple were over the moon about their baby on the way.

"They're just like any other pair of parents-to-be. Yes, they happen to be famous, but they're just the cutest, giddiest young couple that's expecting kids."

Rihanna opened her highly-anticipated Supr Bowl performance with "B--- Better Have My Money" and also performed her hits "Run This Town" and "Umbrella" on Sunday.

Alec Baldwin: Halyna Hutchins' Family Files Lawsuit

More bad news for Alec Baldwin; he has another lawsuit to deal with regarding the fatal "Rust" shooting. Family members of the late Halyna Hutchins are taking the actor and several others to court. TMZ says Halyna's parents and sister have named Alec - as well as a slew of companies and individuals - as defendants in the suit. Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is one of the many named. The suit claims several safety protocols on set were ignored, including their insistence that Gutierrez-Reed should've been the only one handing Baldwin the gun - not Assistant Director David Halls, who's also named as a defendant. The family says Baldwin "cannot hide" behind Halls' alleged statement on set that the gun was "cold" - adding a veteran actor like himself should've insisted that it was demonstrated to him or checked it himself. Hutchins' family is suing for loss of consortium, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more. They’re seeking unspecified damages.

Matthew McConaughey has written his first children’s book, “Just because.” The book explores all of life's little complexities through the eyes of children while seeing the world and each other as full of possibility. "Hanging around my own children, seeing them first make sense of the world in black and white and then maturing into understanding the more subtle realities of life, I've seen them slowly realize the innuendos, context and poetry in people's actions and feelings," says McConaughey. "I was just at Jeremy’s house the other night and he was in a wheelchair," she said. "I walked in his house and I was like, ‘Why are you mobile? What is happening?’ I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends." She called Renner “incredibly brave and strong.” "He's made out of something really tough, that guy and you’ve always been able to see that in him," Lilly said.

They play her whole album in the club. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that. The whole entire joint — like, everything?! Every remix is amazing. Everyone’s inspired. It has inspired the world. Every remix is better than the other one.”

Madonna Fires Back At Comments Over Grammy Appearance

Yesterday, Madonna responded to criticisms of her appearance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. She shared a fun video of herself rubbing elbows with stars at the Grammys, including winner Sam Smith and Cardi B, but in her lengthy caption she took aim at photographers and a wave of “ageism and misogyny” that she felt she was being accosted by. After she made an appearance on stage at the ceremony, some Grammy viewers took to social media to share their opinions on how the singer had become unrecognizable thanks to her particularly plump and smooth face. Madonna said it was the close-up from a long lens camera that distorted her face and made it appear rounder and puffier than it actually was.

Adele mentioned that she was going to the Super Bowl during a show as part of her Weekends with Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. “I’m going just for Rihanna,” she told an audience member. “I don’t give a flying f**k.”

Check Out What Ted Cruz Said About Sam Smith's Grammy Performance

At Sunday’s Grammy Awards, Sam Smith lit up the stage with a Satan-inspired rendition of his song “Unholy.” Numerous conservative figureheads have fired back following the performance. Texas Senator Ted Cruz called the performance “evil.” Smith took to the stage dressed in red with a horned top hat, as he performed his song. On Twitter, Cruz wrote: “This... is... evil.” In follow-up posts, he took the opportunity to take shots at Joe Biden and the Democratic Party, where joked the act was a “preview of the DNC Convention.” “Meet the new White House Press Secretary,” he added.

Beyonce Gets Emotional as She Breaks Record for All-Time Grammy Wins: 'Thank You So Much'

Beyoncé is officially the GOAT.

After accepting the award for best dance/electronic music album for Renaissance, Beyoncé now holds the record for the most Grammy award wins at 32. In an emotional speech, she gave a special shout-out to her family, her children, and the queer community in particular.

"Thank you so much," she said as she began her acceptance speech. "I'm trying not to be too emotional. I'm trying to just receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God."

She continued, "I'd like to thank my Uncle Johnny, who's not here. But he's here in spirit. I'd like to thank my parents — my father, my mother, for loving me, and pushing me. I'd like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching."

The "Cuff It" singer wrapped up her speech with a special shout-out to the queer community, to whom she gave credit for the dance/electronic music genre. "I'd like to thank the queer community for your love, and for inventing this genre," Beyoncé said. "God bless you. Thank you so much to the Grammys. Thank you."

In wake of her record-breaking win, host Trevor Noah was quick to share his reaction, pronouncing her the uncontested GOAT.

"Beyonce has done it, everybody!" he said following her emotional acceptance speech. "She now holds the all-time record for the most grammy wins, so we can finally end the GOAT debate. It's done now. Who's the GOAT? It's Beyoncé. It's done. It's not LeBron, it's not Jordan, it's not Tom Brady, it's not Messi. It's done. It's officially done."

The previous record holder, whom Beyoncé beat out at Sunday's awards show, was Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti, who had long held the record at 31 Grammy Award wins. Solti was well known for leading orchestras across Europe before holding the post as music director at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for 22 years.

For record-breaker Beyoncé, the night is still young. She has the most nominations of the night, with nine total, including nods for album of the year for Renaissance, and both song of the year and record of the year for "Break My Soul."

The Houston, Texas native earned her first Grammy nomination in 2000 for Destiny Child's "Bills, Bills, Bills." The following year, the group's hit song "Say My Name" earned Beyoncé — and Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams — her first two Grammys.

Since then, she's been nominated 88 times and performed eight times, both with Destiny's Child and as a solo artist.

In an Instagram post shared before she arrived at the 65th Grammy Awards Sunday night, Beyoncé wrote that she felt "very grateful and filled with joy" for the three wins she'd already collected at the awards show. "To my Hive, thank y'all so much for all of your love and loyalty! Big thank you for the BREAK MY SOUL and CUFF IT wins!!!"

The 65th Grammy Awards air live at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, during which the show will also be available to stream on Paramount+.

Viola Davis Earns EGOT with Grammy Award for Memoir Audiobook Narration: 'I Just EGOT!'

"It has just been such a journey," Viola Davis said of her memoir Finding Me as she accepted the Grammy Award for best audiobook, narration & storytelling recording, bringing her to EGOT status

The actress, 57, claimed the coveted title — which also requires an Academy Award, Emmy Award and Tony Award — as she won best audiobook, narration & storytelling recording for her memoir Finding Me on Sunday at the 65th Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony.

"Oh my God! I wrote this book to honor the 6-year-old Viola, to honor her life, her joy, her trauma, everything," Davis began in her acceptance speech. "And it has just been such a journey. I just EGOT!"

She continued to thank "everybody who was a part of my story, and the best chapter yet, my loves [husband Julius Tennon and 12-year-old daughter Genesis]. You are my life and my joy, the best chapter in my book. Thank you!"

Fellow EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson celebrated the accomplishment on Twitter, sharing a video of Davis' speech. "Hold the line!!!!!!! Viola Davis just became EGOT #18!!! Omg @violadavis U are absolutely everything! Congratulations to a living LEGEND. Time to celebrate!!!" she wrote.

Davis' first Grammy win was also her first nomination, beating out Jamie Foxx (Act Like You Got Some Sense), Mel Brooks (All About Me!: My Remarkable Life in Show Business), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World by Benjamin Alire Sáenz) and Questlove (Music Is History) for the award.

The Woman King star's journey to EGOT status began in 2001 when she won best featured actress in a play at the 55th Tony Awards for her performance as Tonya in Broadway's King Hedley II. She was previously nominated in the same category for Seven Guitars in 1996.

In 2010, she won best leading actress in a play for her role of Rose Maxson in Fences, which also earned her first Academy Award in 2017 for Best Supporting Actress in the play's feature adaptation.

She was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 2009 for Doubt, as well as Best Actress in 2012 for The Help and 2021 for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

Davis won her first Emmy Award in 2015 for outstanding lead actress in a drama series (the first Black actress to win the category), thanks to her starring performance as Annalise Keating in ABC's How to Get Away with Murder.

The role earned her four other nominations, including for outstanding guest actress in a drama series in 2018 after making an appearance on Shondaland sister series Scandal.

Hosted by Trevor Noah for the third consecutive year, the 65th Grammy Awards air live Sunday night from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. With five new categories, Beyoncé leads the nominations with nine for her seventh solo studio album, Renaissance.

Presenters include Cardi B, Olivia Rodrigo, Shania Twain, Billy Crystal, James Corden, Viola Davis, Dwayne Johnson and First Lady Jill Biden, as well as performances by Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Kim Petras and more.

The 65th Grammy Awards air live at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, during which the show will also be available to stream on Paramount+.

Netflix's 'You People' Starring Jonah Hill And Eddie Murphy Branded 'Horribly Damaging' To Jewish People

Netflix's “You People” has been branded “horribly damaging” to Jewish people for pushing stereotypes of them being white, privileged, and racist. The movie follows a Jewish man (Hill) falling in love with Amira Mohammed (Lauren London), who is a black, Muslim woman. Their relationship is tested as their respective families react to the cultural differences. Critics say the movie is damaging after they claim the movie leans too heavily on stereotypes and was anti-Semitic. Author of Jews Don't Count, David Baddiel, tweeted: “It’s a Jews Don’t Count fest. The Jewish family are positioned as white, privileged and racist. The black family just have a stern dad. At the end, there’s much Jewish apologizing for racism. None for antisemitism. That word never appears.” Allison Josephs, executive director of nonprofit Jew in the City, called the movie “really, really bad.”

Michelle Obama Has A Podcast Coming

Michelle Obama’s recent book tour is becoming a podcast. Audible announced yesterday that the former first lady will launch the “Michelle Obama: The Light Podcast” on March 7. It’s based on Obama’s tour promoting “The Light We Carry,” her recent bestselling book, which featured special guests like Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Tyler Perry, David Letterman and more. The eight-episode podcast “goes beyond the book as Michelle Obama and her friends share personal stories and insights listeners won’t encounter anywhere else.” Obama said in a statement that the book tour was a way to expand on the book’s reflections about dealing with stress and change and a chance to “connect with real people once again.” The podcast, she said, is “a deeper examination of those fun and meaningful moments.” Episodes of “The Light Podcast” will be an Audible exclusive for two weeks, and will be widely available on other podcast platforms after that.

According to the filings, West paid $40,000 to Yiannopoulos for “campaign wrap up services,” while the alt-right commentator allegedly received just under $10,000 for “domain transfer.” Yiannopoulos has also claimed that West owed him $116,000 for consultation services.

"Dr. Phil" Talk Show To End After 21 Seasons

“Dr. Phil” is coming to an end this spring after 21 seasons, CBS Media Ventures announced yesterday. They said it was Dr. Phil McGraw’s decision to stop making new episodes. The media company aims to repackage and rerun old episodes of the show for the 2023-2024 season and beyond. The repurposed episodes would feature new content such as “wrap-arounds and intros by McGraw,” as well as “guest updates,” per the announcement. “I have been blessed with over 25 wonderful years in daytime television,” McGraw said in a statement. “With this show, we have helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers through everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellness and raising children. This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but while I’m moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do.” Dr. Phil said he’s going to shift his focus to prime-time programming with new partnerships due to launch next year. “I am compelled to engage with a broader audience because I have grave concerns for the American family, and I am determined to help restore a clarity of purpose as well as our core values,” McGraw added.
