Snoop Dogg Is Now A 'Dungeon Master' Thanks To Meta AI

Meta revealed a set of themed AI chatbots in a conference held in California this week, and a standout was the Dungeon Master portrayed by Snoop Dogg. Mark Zuckerberg directed this particular part of the Meta Connect showcase on Wednesday and said that users will be able to “invoke Meta AI” anywhere in their conversations on their phone. “This isn’t just gonna be about answering queries – this is about entertainment… we did something a little different for us, we partnered with a bunch of pretty awesome people to basically embody these and play them,” he continued, showing off the Victor, who is portrayed by former Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade. There is also Bru portrayed by Tom Brady, and Max portrayed by chef Roy Choi. All of these chatbots were created for a range of conversations – Max will assist with any culinary questions whereas Amber specializes in true crime. As the Dungeon Master, Snoop Dogg wore a red leather collared cape, a set of armor and a gold chain with a sword. “Now you can just drop the Dungeon Master into one of your chats,” said Zuckerberg in the presentation and demoed a short adventure described by the rapper.

Russell Brand Is Begging Fans For Financial Support

Detectives are investigating a number of allegations of sexual assault in London against Russell Brand, more than a week after the bombshell report in which multiple women accused him of rape, sexual attacks and/or abuse. Brand was accused of raping, sexually assaulting and abusing four women over the course of seven years — including a 16-year-old he allegedly called “the child” — in a joint investigation by The Sunday Times of London, the Times of London and Channel 4 Dispatches published Sept. 16. Brand has asked fans to turn their moral support into financial support as he’s feeling the pinch. He urged his followers to fork over $60 annually to become paying subscribers on Rumble — a video app that is a rival of YouTube, and is committed to free speech. His request came just hours after London’s Metropolitan Police launched a full-scale investigation into “a number of allegations of sexual offenses” against Brand, who has vehemently denied them.

Matthew McConaughey Has Tense Moment Over Anti-Gun Claim On 'The View'

Matthew McConaughey appeared on “The View” yesterday to promote his new book Just Because, fielding a bunch of questions. Joy Behar appeared to hit a nerve with the actor during a discussion about his potential run for office in his home state of Texas. "As far as office, I will always measure what category I can be most useful," he said. Referencing McConaughey's activism following the deadly 2022 school shooting in his hometown of Uvalde, Behar asked, "Do you think you can get elected in Texas, being anti-gun?" The actor paused for a moment and repeated the question to himself before raising his finger in Behar's face. "One thing about me and politics is, to give you a direct statement right there is me playing a game I'm not interested in playing," he replied. Behar urged him not to say anything if he didn't want to. When the show returned from a commercial break for a segment that revealed a wax figure made in McConaughey's likeness, cohost Sunny Hostin addressed the issue. "I did want to say that I've done a lot of research in terms of your advocacy, and I don't know that you're anti-gun, I think you're pro-gun responsibility and legislation," Hostin said. The panelists then proceeded to unveil the wax figure.

In light of the announcement that The Drew Barrymore Show will resume production, the National Book Foundation has rescinded Ms. Barrymore’s invitation to host the 74th National Book Awards ceremony.”

Kevin Costner's Lawyer Slams His Ex-Wife's Demand That The Actor Pay Her $885K Bill For Legal Fees

Kevin Costner's Hollywood lawyer Laura Wasser slammed her client's ex Christine Baumgartner, for asking him to pay $885K in legal fees. Baumgartner - who was recently ordered to pay a $14K sanction - filed a request with a judge to get her ex to pay $885K for her lawyer’s fees... to argue just one sole issue in divorce court. The issue at hand is whether her waiver of spousal support is enforceable. Wasser said the ask is “nothing nothing short of outrageous.” Wasser claims that, based on hourly rates, Baumgartner's lawyers would have to rack up 1,106 billable hours to justify that amount.

Ashton Kutcher Under Fire For Comment He Made About Hilary Duff When She Was 15

Ashton Kutcher has come under fire again, this time for making a comment about Hilary Duff while she was underage. A resurfaced clip shows Kutcher - who's been slammed over his support of convicted rapist Danny Masterson — in a 2003 episode of his show Punk’d, where he spoke about a then 15-year-old Duff (now 35) during the introduction segment. “Hilary Duff is in Lizzie McGuire, she also has an album out. She’s going to be in a movie called Cheaper by the Dozen. And she’s one of the girls that we’re all waiting for to turn 18. Along with the Olsen twins,” he added. While Hilary was just 15, Mary-Kate and Ashley would have been 17-years-old at the time, while Kutcher was 25-years-old.

Kunis continued, “We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future.” Kutcher said that a “couple of months ago, Danny’s family reached out to us. And they asked us to write character letters to represent the person that we knew for 25 years so that the judge could take that into full consideration relative to the sentencing.” “The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity of the jury’s ruling,” Kunis added. Kutcher went on to say that the letters were “not to undermine the testimony of the victims,” adding, “We would never want to do that. And we’re sorry if that has taken place.” Kunis finished with: Our heart goes out to every single person who’s ever been a victim of sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape.”

Danny Masterson Sentenced To 30 Years To Life In Prison

“That ’70s Show” star Danny Masterson was sentenced yesterday to 30 years to life in prison for raping two women more than two decades ago at his Hollywood Hills home. Masterson, 47, was hit with the punishment four months after he was convicted on two of the three rape counts he faced at his retrial in Los Angeles. Danny has repeatedly denied sexually assaulting the women. Masterson had been charged with raping three women — identified at trial as Jane Doe #1, Jane Doe #2 and Jane Doe #3 — between 2001 and 2003. Masterson’s first trial ended in November 2022 with a mistrial, with jurors leaning toward acquittal. His second trial ended with the actor being convicted of raping Jane Doe #1 and Jane Doe #2 but not Jane Doe #3. All three accusers are former members of the Church of Scientology, to which Masterson still belongs.

"Tonight Show" Staffers Say Jimmy Fallon Is Erratic, Seems Drunk At Toxic Workplace

Staff members of the “Tonight Show” have leveled accusations against Jimmy Fallon, alleging instances of erratic behavior in what they describe as a challenging work environment. A report published by Rolling Stone yesterday featured accounts from two current and fourteen former employees, spanning roles from production crew members to office staff and show writers. They referred to distinct “good Jimmy days” and “bad Jimmy days.” According to a former employee quoted in the report, there was a sense that nobody dared to challenge Jimmy's decisions, resulting in an atmosphere where everyone tiptoed cautiously, particularly the showrunners. The former employee stated, “You never knew which Jimmy we were going to get and when he was going to throw a hissy fit. Look at how quickly many showrunners came and went; we know they didn't last long.” However, it's worth noting that some sources have pointed out that many of these allegations stem from former staffers and that the work environment has undergone significant changes since new showrunner Chris Miller assumed the role in May of last year. One source said: “He's brought a renewed sense of enthusiasm and positivity to the show. Chris takes pride in being accessible to the staff and maintaining transparent leadership. He's precisely what the show needed.” Additionally, two employees claimed that Jimmy appeared to be intoxicated at work in 2017, while a couple of others reported having detected the odor of alcohol on his breath during separate encounters in an elevator in 2019 and 2020. Krystie Lee Yandoli, the woman who wrote the article for Rolling Stone, appeared on "Entertainment Tonight" yesterday.

Chris Rock Escapes Burning Man In A Fan's Pickup

Chris Rock was among the fortunate few who were able to flee the disastrous scene at the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert — thanks to the help of a fan with a pickup truck. Thousands of fans remained stranded after a heavy rain fell on the festival, which trapped the festival goers in thick mud. Attendees were told to conserve food and water while the event’s organizers worked with authorities to get everyone off the grounds. Diplo — a DJ who also appeared at the festival — posted a video to Instagram detailing the trek he and Rock made to escape. “A fan offered Chris Rock and I a ride out of Burning Man in a pickup,” Diplo explained in the video caption. He proceeded to show Rock and five other passengers in the bed of the truck. Before Diplo and Rock could be picked up, they had to trudge through six miles of mud. “I legit walked the side of the road for hours with my thumb out,” Diplo wrote in the caption. Rock seemed to be in good spirits after making his way to safety. “If I could get a cold brew right now…” Rock said in the video, from the back of the pickup.

Kevin Costner Ordered to Pay Estranged Wife Christine $63K per Month in Child Support After She Asked for $162K

Kevin Costner got what he asked for.

On Friday, the Yellowstone actor, 68, was ordered to pay his estranged wife Christine $63,209 per month in child support, granting Kevin his proposed amount after a two-day court hearing in Santa Barbara.

In July, Kevin had been tentatively ordered to make monthly payments of $129,755 to the mother of his three kids — Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13. Earlier this week, Christine, 49, filed a request to increase that amount to $175,057 — a $46,000-plus increase. She reduced that figure to $161,592 during a court hearing on Thursday, following a forensic accountant’s latest assessment.

“My biggest concern is that the court orders me to pay child support that is above the needs of my children and for the needs of Christine,” Kevin said in court on Friday when he took the stand.

On Thursday, Christine's attorney John Rydell said that the lifestyle Christine and Kevin's three children have grown accustomed to is “in their DNA at this point.”

On the stand, Christine explained how a decrease in financial status would affect their kids. She said in part their children are “very connected to the ocean — it’s their home,” and noted the surf garage is 50 steps from “toes in the water."

“It’s so much more than this — it’s an experience," Christine told the court as she looked at evidentiary photos. "We’ve created quite a community," she added, repeatedly referring to the Santa Barbara compound she vacated as “ours." The home, as stated in court, includes a volleyball court, a garden, an infinity pool and two guest houses.

In July, a source told PEOPLE that Christine moved out of the family’s house on the $145 million Santa Barbara compound that she shared with Kevin, as per the terms of their prenup. She initially stayed at a smaller house on the property, then moved to a nearby rental home for $40,000 per month, as confirmed in court Thursday.

"Christine is trying to keep everything as normal as possible,” the source told PEOPLE in July.

Christine filed for divorce from the Oscar winner in May. The couple was married for 18 years.

At the time of their split, a rep for the actor said in a statement, "It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action."

Jimmy Buffett, 'Margaritaville' Singer, Dead at 76

Jimmy Buffett, the musician and mogul whose easy-breezy hit "Margaritaville" became a way of life for legions of devoted Parrotheads, has died. He was 76.

The singer-songwriter, whose new album Equal Strain on All Parts was due to be released later this year, died with his family and friends around him, a statement posted on his social media and website on Saturday confirmed.

“Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs," the statement — which was accompanied by a touching photograph of Buffett sitting on a boat —read. "He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many."

Buffett was forced to reschedule a concert in May after he was hospitalized in Boston "to address some issues that needed immediate attention," he told fans in a statement shared to Twitter.

"Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you," he said. " I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I'll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup. You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I would have ever imagined as a [tow] headed little boy sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico."

Buffett, who is survived by wife Jane and kids Savannah, Sarah and Cameron, was born on Christmas Day 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and raised partially in Alabama. He developed a love of musical theater as a young boy thanks to his mom Mary, who spent her time off from the shipyard with the Mobile Theatre Guild in Alabama.

"She would always be in productions, and she would take me to the shows when they'd come through town," he told Entertainment Weekly in 2018, the same year his own jukebox musical, Escape to Margaritaville, opened on Broadway.

After graduating from college with a history degree, Buffett worked briefly as a writer for Billboard magazine, and also spent several years working on a fishing boat.

He released his first album, Down to Earth, in 1970, but didn't break through until seven years later, when "Margaritaville," off the album Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, became a hit. The enduring sun-kissed anthem — which was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2016 — helped change the trajectory of Buffett's career, as it went on to spawn a booming business of the same name featuring everything from resorts and restaurants to apparel and drinks.

"I wish I could say that some secret plan for world domination was devised years ago, but I don't have a clue as to why, when or how all this happened. I'm not going to dissect it," Buffett told PEOPLE in 1994. "It'd ruin all the fun of being in the middle of it."

Though Buffett continued to release a steady stream of albums over the next few decades, he became known mainly as a massive concert draw, with his annual shows with his Coral Reefer Band raking in millions for the star.

"I put on a good show for my fans. I sell them Jimmy Buffett. I'm one of the few living legends left," he said, according to a 1990 PEOPLE article. "Even if radio stations won't play my songs, I can still be happy. I can still say, 'I tricked them again.'"

The near cult-like devotees came to be known as Parrotheads, and turned out in droves each year to hear Buffett's signature fusion of country, pop, rock and calypso.

"What's most important is to please the Parrotheads, because there's more to the music than just the music," he told EW in 1995. "It's become a lifestyle. I wish I could take credit, but it's fan-generated."

Buffett released more than 30 albums over his career, and was nominated for two Grammy Awards, for "Hey Good Lookin'," his 2004 song with Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Clint Black and Toby Keith, and the Alan Jackson duet "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," which was released in 2003. Both that song and "Knee Deep," which he recorded with Zac Brown Band, were country No. 1s.

In addition to his music, Buffett was a best-selling author and philanthropist who founded the nonprofit Save the Manatee Club in 1981 with then-Florida Gov. Bob Graham.

Forbes reported in 2023 that the star was a billionaire, and that his assets included an estimated $570 million from touring and recording, a music catalog worth $50 million and $140 million in planes, homes and shares in Berkshire Hathaway.

Buffett was also an avid pilot, and made headlines in 1994 after his seaplane crashed in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Buffett was able to punch through the plane's window and climb out into the water, where he was rescued by two fishermen in a passing motorboat. He wrote in his 1998 memoir A Pirate Looks at Fifty that he "lived through it thanks to Navy training."

The musician also recovered in 2011 after falling off the stage during a show in Australia.

Buffett married his second wife Jane, a former model, in 1977, and the pair were parents to daughters Savannah, a radio personality, and Sarah, and son Cameron, whom they adopted in the early 1990s.

"I was perfectly comfortable in a woman's world, or so I thought," he wrote in his memoir. "I have two sisters and no brothers. As a child, I was very close to my mother. I was well into my thirties before my father and I, who had waged our own guerilla warfare, luckily and finally made peace. I now lived in what I referred to then as the International House of Women…Cameron Marley came into our lives just at the right time for all of us Buffetts."

In the book, he praised his family and friends as being "treasure more valuable than gold," and said he believed himself to be extremely fortunate.

"I have been called a lot of things in these fifty years on the good old planet Earth, but the thing I believe I am the most is lucky," he wrote.

Jimmy Kimmel Says Ben Affleck And Matt Damon Offered To Pay His Staff's Salary Amid Strikes

Jimmy Kimmel says that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck offered to pitch in and help cover his Jimmy Kimmel Live staff's salaries during the ongoing Hollywood strikes. Kimmel joined forces with Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers and John Oliver to launch the Strike Force Five podcast on Spotify earlier this week, with the proceeds set to benefit their respective out-of-work staffers as the Writer's Guild of America strike -- which began in May -- continues. In its debut episode, Kimmel reveals his real-life friends' generosity. "Ben Affleck and the despicable Matt Damon contacted me and offered to pay our staff," Kimmel revealed. Kimmel said Affleck and Damon wanted to pay out of their own pockets, suggesting they could each cover one week's worth of his employees' salaries. Kimmel said he turned down the offer, saying, "I felt that that was not their responsibility." Ryan Reynolds also apparently proposed to chip in and support Kimmel's staff, offering them free Mint Mobile service for a year. Mint Mobile serves as one of the podcast's sponsors.
