Grand Jury Declines To Indict Travis Scott, Astroworld Organizers In Fatal Stampede

A Texas grand jury has declined to indict rapper Travis Scott and organizers of the Astroworld Festival in Houston after a stampede in November 2021 left 10 people dead. Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg announced the grand jury's decision in a news release, stating that "a tragedy isn't always a crime." "It is tragic that 10 innocent people were killed while trying to enjoy an evening of music and entertainment, something many of us do routinely and without a second thought to our safety. But a tragedy isn't always a crime, and not every death is a homicide," Ogg said. Ogg noted the grand jury had issued six no-bills, ending the criminal investigation, but that the grand jury's determination "has no impact on the many civil lawsuits pending." Tens of thousands of people are said to have rushed the stage when Travis Scott appeared at the festival, leaving thousands reportedly injured and 10 people dead, including two victims under the age of 15.

Whoopi Goldberg Slams Clarence Thomas Over Supreme Court Affirmative Action Ruling

Yesterday on “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg slammed Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas after the Court’s 6-3 decision concerning affirmative action. “He doesn’t know what diversity is. That’s what he said, and so he doesn’t get it,” Goldberg said in response to Thomas’ concurrence with the decision. “Well, let me pose this question to you, Justice Thomas: Could your mother and father vote in this country? Because had the 14th Amendment actually had us on equal footing, they would’ve been able to vote. And you know why that changed? Because people got out and made a change. If we didn’t have to, no one would do it. Who wants to get hit by water from a water hose? Nobody!” Goldberg exclaimed. “But that’s what people did in order to get the vote. So when you say you don’t know what diversity is, I say you’re full of it.”

Kevin Costner Claims Estranged Wife Wants $248K In Child Support To Fund Her Plastic Surgery

Kevin Costner is accusing his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, of seeking nearly $250,000 in child support payments for her own benefit — not their kids’. Costner alleged in court documents that his forensic accountant found that Christine spends more than $100,000 in cosmetic surgery procedures — and that’s the real reason she is asking for so much money. They also claim Baumgartner has dropped thousands of dollars in boutique shopping, ATM withdrawals, construction loans, attorneys’ fees and other expenses that have “nothing” to do with her children.

Alec Baldwin Vents While Being Stuck On The Tarmac

The airline travel nightmare affected Alec Baldwin. The chaos began over the weekend when storms began pounding the northeast and parts of the Midwest, causing mass delays and cancellations into and out of New York area airports. United Airlines alone has canceled more than 2,000 flights since Sunday, prompting a message from the company's CEO, John Kirby, that placed most of the blame on FAA staffing shortages. A victim of the travel delays is Alec Baldwin, who posted to his Instagram several times Tuesday from his seat on a delayed plane out of Newark. “6 and 1/2 hours on a plane, sitting at the gate, waiting to fly NEWARK to VANCOUVER. No end in sight,” he wrote, adding the hashtag “How Will Global Warming Effect [sic] Air Travel?” He followed up an hour later, with another selfie from the runway, writing: “Why are US airlines so sh***y? Sitting here for 7 and 1/2 hours.”

Michael Jackson Molestation Allegations By Wade Robson Will Go To Trial

Choreographer Wade Robson's allegations of childhood molestation against Michael Jackson will lead to an upcoming trial. The California Court of Appeal recently cleared the path for Robson to present his case, asserting that Jackson allegedly molested him at the Neverland Ranch when Robson was between 7 and 14 years old. Robson is pursuing legal action against MJJ Productions, Inc., Michael Jackson's corporation. Jackson's company lawyers argued that the corporation did not have a legal obligation to protect Robson or others from Jackson's actions, as they had no control over his behavior. While the trial court accepted the Estate's argument initially, the Court of Appeal held a contrasting viewpoint. Based on a preliminary ruling, the case is now set to be returned for trial. Robson maintains that when he immigrated to the United States from Australia as a young boy, Jackson formed a friendship with him and subjected him to sexual abuse.

Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman recently discovered that he has another child. He’s opening up about meeting his adult son for the first time, and the symbolic importance of his previously secret son's birthday. Dog took to Instagram yesterday - which memorialized the fourth anniversary of his late wife Beth Chapman's death -- to share how meeting his son recontextualized the significance of this emotional date. "For the last four years, this day was a terrible reminder of one of the greatest losses of my life. But God redeemed this day when I discovered my son Jon, who I just met recently, was born on this day," Dog wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of his adult son, and Dog's newly met daughter-in-law. "So now instead of sorrow, this day has a new meaning. This is my son Jon and his wife Jodi." The whole story of Jon is told in Dog’s new book, Nine Lives and Counting, coming soon. Dog was already the father of 12 children before introducing the world to his newly discovered son. Not much is known about Jon, or the circumstances surrounding his paternity.

Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola tied the knot in the same location in northern California where the couple filmed the “Mad Men” series finale back in 2015. Guests at the wedding included Larry David, Tina Fey, Brooke Shields, Billy Crudup and John Slattery. The nuptials took place just before sunset on Saturday at the Anderson Canyon in Big Sur, California. Maury Povich Is Launching His Own At-Home Paternity Test Kits Called 'The Results Are In'

Maury Povich definitely knows a lot about paternity tests. The longtime Maury host regularly doled out DNA tests to unsuspecting fathers on his talk show, which ended in September 2022 after 31 seasons. His catchphrase was “You not the father!” Now, less than a year after the TV show went off the air, Povich has created his own line of paternity tests. His new company is called The Results Are In, the phrase he would announce before revealing someone’s paternity on the show. “I’ve seen firsthand how DNA testing can change lives and bring families together. With ‘The Results Are In,’ we’re making it easier and more affordable than ever before for people to get the answers they need,” Povich said in a statement to TMZ on Friday. There are instructions in each kit explaining how to collect a DNA sample, which the user would then send off to a lab. The confidential results — which boast to have a 99.99 percent accuracy rate — would then be ready in two to three business days.

He advised fellow actors to be cautious and reject contracts containing terms like "in perpetuity" and "known and unknown" to assert their disapproval.

James Cameron On The Submersible Disaster

Director James Cameron, who has been down to the Titanic wreck 33 times, talked to ABC News yesterday after it was announced that all five members aboard the Titan submarine had died. “I’m struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night and many people died as a result,” said Cameron, who directed the movie “Titanic.” “For a very similar tragedy, where warnings went unheeded, to take place at the same exact site with all the diving that’s going on all around the world, I think is just astonishing.” “It’s really quite surreal,” he noted before discussing the complexities of building a submarine for such depths. “A number of the top players in this deep-submergence engineering community even wrote letters to the company, saying that what they were doing was too experimental to carry passengers and that it needed to be certified,” Cameron added, backing up his claims that the OceanGate CEO, who was aboard the sub, had been warned.

Cardi B Slams Stepson Of British Billionaire Aboard Missing Sub For Attending Blink 182 Concert

Brian Szasz confirmed in Facebook post on Monday that he was the stepson of the explorer, before sharing a pic from the San Diego show, insisting his family would want him to be there. And in a furious social media post, Cardi B said the stepson should be “at home, crying” and waiting for updates on his stepfather's whereabouts instead of “shaking d***ks” at a concert. Cardi told her followers: “One of the billionaires, their stepson is at a concert right, at a Blink 182 concert. And people are like 'erm what is he supposed to do, be sad at the house, is he supposed to go look for him himself?' Yes!”

Director Oliver Stone Slams John Wick Movies Over Huge Body Counts

Filmmaker Oliver Stone offered some choice words about movie franchises “John Wick” and “Fast & Furious” yesterday, slamming them as not believable - and worse. Stone, director of such classics as Platoon and Natural Born Killers, slammed the Keanu Reeves-led kill series as needlessly violent, and the long-running car series as done to death. The comments came as Stone said he viewed the most recent John Wick movie while on a flight to Romania last week. Taking the time to also slam movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Stone expressed his frustration about the popularity these films have seen in recent decades. He said these movies have lost touch with reality, and that “the audience perhaps likes the video game.” As for himself, Stone said: “I get bored by it.”

Notably, there is no mention of a request for spousal support in this application.

New Grammy Rule Addresses Artificial Intelligence

The Recording Academy is implementing changes to the Grammy Awards, including a new rule that restricts the highest honor to human creators, addressing the use of artificial intelligence in music. According to the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Protocols" released last Friday, they stated, "A work that contains no human authorship is not eligible in any category." This rule was established during the academy's board of trustees meeting, where it was decided that AI-infused works are eligible if a human creator makes a "meaningful" contribution to the music and/or lyrics. The new requirements emphasize the significance of meaningful human authorship. Additionally, the Recording Academy announced changes to other categories. To receive a nomination for the album of the year category, a music creator must now contribute at least 20% of the work, including credited artists, featured artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, mixers, and mastering engineers. This differs from the previous decision in 2021, which allowed any contributor to receive a nomination. Moreover, the number of nominees in the "Big Four" categories, including best new artist, album, song, and record of the year, has been reduced from ten to eight. Previously, the "best music film" category required 50% of the documentary footage to be performance-based. However, the Recording Academy has removed this requirement.

Ken Jennings On Why He Shouldn't Have Replaced Alex Trebek On Jeopardy!

Ken Jennings has been a staple of “Jeopardy!” since he won 74 consecutive games back in 2004. Now he has been co-hosting the show alongside Mayim Bialik since Alex Trebek passed in November 2020. However, Jennings said he wouldn’t have picked himself for the job if he was in charge of casting for the series. He told Utah outlet Deseret News recently that while hosting the show is his dream job, he would have picked someone else for the position. “If I were hiring for that job, I would go with a sturdy broadcaster with decades of experience, not just somebody who happened to be good at the show many years ago,” Ken said. “But luckily they took a chance on me.” “I kind of have to pinch myself every day. I do not take it for granted,” he said. “I was 100% confident I would not get a shot at the job — because that would be insane.”

Pete Davidson Charged With Reckless Driving After Crashing Into House

Pete Davidson is facing a reckless driving charge following a car crash into a Beverly Hills home earlier this year. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office recently filed one misdemeanor count against Davidson, three months after the incident occurred. The arraignment is set for July 27. According to a spokesperson from the DA's office, they believe Davidson's reckless driving led to the serious collision with the home, fortunately without causing severe injuries. In March, while driving a Mercedes-Benz at a high speed, Davidson's car jumped a curb, hit a fire hydrant, skidded across a front lawn, and ultimately collided with the corner of the house.

Kourtney Kardashian Is Pregnant

Kourtney Kardashian is expecting her first child with hubby Travis Barker. Kourtney revealed the news to the public as the Blink-182 drummer performed on stage at his concert by holding up a sign that read: “Travis, I'm Pregnant.” It's a nod to the band's iconic All The Small Things music video, in which a similar sign appears. After catching a glimpse of the message, Travis jumped down off the stage, made his way towards her and the two shared a passionate kiss. She later confirmed the news on her Instagram Story by sharing a video of the surprise reveal. Kourtney revealed last December that she'd officially stopped her IVF journey 10 months prior after she said it caused her to spiral into a deep depression among other symptoms. She already shares three children — Mason, 13, Penelope, 10, and Reign, eight — with ex-boyfriend Scott Disick. Travis has two children — Landon, 29, and Alabama, 17 — with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler.

Ticketmaster To Show Full Ticket Pricing And Eliminate Hidden Fees

Live Nation Entertainment is introducing an “all-in pricing experience” that will eliminate hidden fees and allow prospective ticket buyers to see a concert or event’s true cost before making a purchase. “Fans typically know tickets will include service fees, but seeing the total cost from the start makes buying tickets easier and consistent with other retail shopping experiences,” the company said in a press release. According to The New York Times, SeatGeek is also introducing a similar feature to display events’ total costs. President Biden had called out the ticketing giants for their “junk fees” during his State of the Union address in February. “We can stop service fees on tickets to concerts and sporting events and make companies disclose all the fees upfront,” he said. Yesterday, Biden met with people from several events companies to discuss the new pricing commitment.

Lady Gaga Is Slammed For Posting Ad Campaign For Migraine Drug As She Teams Up With Pfizer

Lady Gaga is being slammed by her own fans for an ad campaign in which she teams with pharmaceutical giant Pfizer for a migraine drug. Gaga posted a snap of herself at her The Chromatica Ball Tour last year featuring a huge watermark in the top right corner for Nurtec ODT. What followed were slides straight from Pfizer's marketing team featuring safety info, side effects, and general information about the migraine drug. Gaga - who has been open about her medical struggles - posted it with a lengthy caption featuring a mix of her own statement along with advertising/legal jargon. Part of the caption read: “Ever since childhood, I’ve dealt with migraine pain. When I tried Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) 75 mg for the first time, I’ll never forget wishing I had found it sooner. That’s why I’m proud to partner with Nurtec ODT. [purple heart emoji] We’re in this together. If you’re ready to speak to a doctor, ask about Nurtec ODT today. #MHAM” Her fans didn’t like the posting; one wrote: “you really are such an embarrassing sellout, it's really disappointing.” Another said: "ma'am??? since when are you doing sponsored posts??? This is wild.” Another wrote: “Posting a photo of the chromatica ball during pride month but being a migraine ad is homophobic.” Lastly, a different fan expressed disappointment with Gaga for posting the ad but nothing about it being Pride Month.

One fan slammed the restaurant saying the burger is no better than a Big Mac. “Went to Gordon Ramsay Burger in Harrods yesterday and have to say it was a big let down,” Harry John White, from Guildford said on Twitter. “Slow and confused service, no check back and you'd have thought I'd ordered a Big Mac, not an £85 burger. "The younger you have kids, the more time they get to have with you. It’s wild. Having kids is incredible. The things you normally take for granted in life are new."

There were claims of stalking, corrupt cops and mob connections. Neither man was ever the same.

Matt Damon And Ben Affleck Rip Donald Trump For Using Movie Speech In AI-Aided Ad

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck slammed Donald Trump for using a speech from their recent movie in a campaign ad without express consent. Trump posted a video on his Truth Social Saturday, featuring Damon's monologue as the Nike marketing and sales representative Sonny Vaccaro in the Affleck-directed film “Air.” It shows Trump stepping out of planes and greeting supporters as Damon says: “Money can buy you almost anything. It can't buy you immortality, that you have to earn.” Damon then talks about facing adversity as those who once supported you try to tear you down in the film about Nike's partnership with Michael Jordan, which Trump took advantage of for his new campaign ad complete with an AI-produced image of him kneeling in prayer. The video then dissolves into a crowd at one of Trump's rallies chanting “U-S-A, U-S-A” before showing a donation screen with the phrase “Make America Great Again.” After the video was posted, a spokesperson for Artists Equity, Damon and Affleck's production company, told the Daily Beast the Trump campaign didn’t have permission to use the monologue. “We had no foreknowledge of, did not consent to and did not endorse or approve any footage of audio from Air being repurposed by the Trump campaign as a political advertisement or for any other use,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “We hereby expressly give notice that in the case of any use of material from Air by the Trump campaign where approval or consent is required, we do not grant such consent.”

In the first episode of the project, Arnold spoke about what it was really like for him and his late brother to grow up as the son of decorated Nazi soldier, who returned to Austria from the war as a broken man and went on to unleash abuse on his family. “Our upbringing was very tough. The brutality that would be at home, the beatings that we got from our parents sometimes,” the actor said. Arnold revealed his belief that his “tyrant” father may have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, which was revealed in the way he would smack his children and hit them with the belt.

Anthony Hopkins Slams Marvel Movies

More than a decade after he first appeared as Odin in 2011's Thor, Anthony Hopkins is speaking out about his experience in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor played Odin in 2011's Thor, 2013's Thor: The Dark World and 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, though he recently spoke rather disparagingly about his experience. He spoke with The New Yorker in an interview about how the Marvel Cinematic Universe ultimately “swallowed” Hollywood as a whole. “They put me in armor; they shoved a beard on me. Sit on the throne, shout a bit. If you’re sitting in front of a green screen, it’s pointless acting it,” Hopkins said. His comments come just weeks after a first look at the actor as Roman Emporer Vespasian surfaced for the new series Those About To Die.
