New Kids on the Block are going super-nostalgic with their Magic Summer 2024 Tour. The boyband (Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight, Jordan Night and Danny Wood) plan to reimagine their 1990 tour of the same name for a three-month tour that will kick off June 14 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and play more than 40 cities before wrapping Aug. 25 in Noblesville, Indiana. Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff will join the guys throughout the run. A pre-sale for the group's Block Nation fan club and Citi cardholders begins tomorrow. Other pre-sales will run throughout the week before the general on sale at 10 a.m. local time Friday via livenation.com.

The latest episode of “The Simpsons” aired Sunday, showing what could be the fate of Elon Musk's X and SpaceX. The show, known for making predictions that come true, focuses on Mr. Burns, who falls in love with a young college dropout CEO named Persephone and buys Twitter for her. He tells his love interest that he bought the platform for a bargain because “the previous owner had to sell it after his self-driving Mars rocket crashed into the international space station.” The FOX show had predicted Musk would buy Twitter in a previous episode before the billionaire paid $44 billion for the platform in 2022.

Friends star Matthew Perry has died at the age of 54 after drowning in his jacuzzi at home. The actor was found on Saturday at a home in Los Angeles after first responders were called to the scene for a cardiac arrest. Sources said he was found in a jacuzzi at the home but that no drugs were discovered at the scene - and there was no indication of foul play. Authorities responded to his home around 4 p.m. where he was discovered unresponsive. In his last post to his Instagram, shared early last week, Perry shared images of him in his pool, saying: “Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I'm Mattman.” Perry has been candid publicly about his problems with drugs and alcohol, after first going to rehab in 1997 for what was said to a pain medication addiction after a jet skiing accident. Following this initial stint, he then went to rehab again in 2001 and 2011. He told an interviewer in 2016 that he doesn't remember filming three seasons of Friends.

Disney is delaying the release of its live-action Snow White movie by a year for a major overhaul, after star Rachel Zegler sparked anger after slamming aspects of the original. Walt Disney announced the delay on Friday. The movie studio cited the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike as the major reason behind the decision - but cynics point to upcoming reshoots as proof Disney bosses fear they've made a $330 million mistake. Zegler, who plays the title role, said the 1937 source material was creepy and vowed to ensure the remake was more progressive. Over the summer, the film received negative attention after it was revealed that the Seven Dwarfs would be replaced by seven “magical (non-dwarf) creatures” in an effort to keep the storytelling in line with the 21st Century's commitment to political correctness. They were seen on the set of the movie and included a mix of men and women of different ethnicities, with a real dwarf among their number. But in a new publicity shot, Snow White, played by Rachel Zegler, is seated and surrounded by seven CGI dwarfs, with the diverse originals nowhere to be seen.

However, many have criticized the changes, with some arguing that Apple doesn't have enough high-quality content to justify paying more. Taylor Swift is now a 400-lb pumpkin. Ohio-based artist Jeanette Paras went to work on the pumpkin, turning it into a unique art piece, painstakingly painting Swift’s features — including her signature red lips — on the face of the pumpkin in a video on her website. Will Smith is set to star in a new podcast series by Wondery and Audible. The actor will host the Class of '88 podcast series, which is set to release today. Over the weekend, 50 Cent slammed President Biden for taking another beach vacation in Delaware as chaos continued to unfold in the war between Israel and Hamas. “Hey Joe get the f–k up, we in trouble man!” 50 Cent posted on Instagram with a screenshot from an article titled, “Biden hits the beach with the Middle East, Congress in Chaos.” In a follow-up post that screenshots an article with a headline saying, “50 Cent flames Biden,” the rapper wrote, “We got some real s— going on out here Joe. Richard Roundtree, who helped define cinematic cool with his iconic title role in Shaft and its sequels, has died at the age of 81. He died yesterday afternoon after a short bout with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family at the time of his death. In 2019, Roundtree reprised his Shaft role with Samuel L. Jackson playing his son. Roundtree first starred as the detective John Shaft in 1971's Shaft. Roundtree worked regularly for more than 50 years. He also appeared in films like “Se7en,” “Brick” and “Speed Racer.” He played a supporting role in “Moving On,” a comedy starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda that debuted at the Toronto Film Festival last year before releasing in theaters this past summer.

Matthew Vaughn said the world needs “a little bit of time off” from superhero movies. The director, known for films like X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass, was asked in an interview with Screen Rant whether he would consider returning to the superhero genre. Vaughn said he was freaked out by the box office failure of The Flash starring Ezra Miller, which he described as a really good film that was potentially victim to superhero fatigue. “And so it made me question,” Vaughn said. “I think there’s been so many bad superhero movies as well that it’s like when the Western got, you make so many [that] you get bored of the genre, not because the genre is bad, but because the films are bad.” He added: “I genuinely don’t know what’s happening with the superhero in the sense that, I do think, maybe we all need a little bit of time off from it.”

Mary Lou Retton is making progress in her health after being hospitalized for a rare form of pneumonia. Adam Sandler briefly stopped a recent show for a fan who was having a medical emergency in the crowd. Sandler was performing at SAP Center in San Jose Wednesday night when he stopped the show. Adam heard an audience member yelling "medical emergency" and stopped the whole thing to make sure the fan got assistance. Not long after, the lights came up and everyone waited until paramedics were able to get to the fan in distress. Adam helped guide the medics to the person in need. According to reports, the show was put on hold for about 10 minutes, and the man who had the emergency was believed to have been dehydrated while in the crowd but is doing fine.

Netflix has officially increased its prices on certain plans. On Wednesday, the streaming service announced in a note to shareholders that prices are going up in the United States, United Kingdom and France.

What Netflix plans will increase prices in the US?
The prices for Netflix with ads ($6.99) and the standard plan ($15.49) are staying the same. However, the basic level will now be $11.99 and premium will be $22.99.
The basic plan, which is no longer offered to new or rejoining subscribers, is similar to the standard plan but streams in just HD (720p) resolution.

Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling said she would do prison time over her views on transgender women. Rowling appeared to be responding to a story in the Mail on Sunday, which reported that a Labor government in Britain could make gender identity attacks a criminal offense. Critics told the newspaper that it could result in prison sentences for those who refuse to use a transgender person’s preferred pronouns. “I’ll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex,” Rowling said on X. Rowling is a big advocate for biological women’s rights amid the fraught trans debate. Her post appears to suggest that she’s willing to commit a crime in her desire for freedom of expression.

Burt Young - who played Paulie Pennino in the Rocky franchise - died at the age of 83 on October 8th. His death was confirmed by his daughter, Anne Morea Steingieser, to the New York Times. The cause of his passing has yet to be revealed. Young starred in over 160 film and television projects. One of his first roles was in 1969 when he starred in the television series called The Doctors where he played an uncredited role of a bartender. He’s also known for working on films such as Chinatown (1974) - starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway - as well as Once Upon A Time In America (1984). Young's Rocky co-star, Sylvester Stallone, jumped to his main Instagram page to share a heartfelt tribute upon hearing the news of his death. Along with uploading a throwback image of both himself and Burt on set of the classic movie, Sly wrote: “To my Dear Friend, BURT YOUNG, you were an incredible man’s and artist, I and the World will miss you very much...RIP.”

Kevin Hart and Chris Rock did a stand-up tour together last year. The two did five shows together – Rock Hart: Only Headliners Allowed – across New York and New Jersey last July. Netflix will now air a documentary following the two on this tour. The doc – Kevin Hart & Chris Rock: Headliners Only will air on December 12. It will go behind the scenes of the tour and follow the comedians as they give first-hand accounts of their early lives, struggles, triumphs and their brotherhood.

Britney Spears revealed she had an abortion while she was in a relationship with Justin Timberlake, calling it “one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.” Brit opened up about the decision in her new memoir, The Woman in Me. The two stars started dating in 1999 when Spears was 17 and Justin was 18, with their relationship ending in 2002. Spears says that her decision to have the abortion was because JT didn’t want to go through with the pregnancy. “Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy,” she alleges. “He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.” She added in the book, “I don’t know if that was the right decision. The changes at Showtime continue. Paramount Global confirmed yesterday that the network’s sports operation will be dissolved by the end of the year. Showtime will honor its 2023 obligations, airing the remaining boxing commitments. Showtime is leaving the boxing business after almost 38 years, exiting after nearly 2,000 bouts five years after longtime rival HBO did the same in 2018.

Sam Neill reveled that he’s not afraid of dying as he battles stage-three blood cancer. The Jurassic Park star told Australian Story that chemo failed to work, leaving him in a fight for life - but that a new experimental drug is now working at fighting off his non-Hodgkin blood cancer, angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. Despite the promising news, Neill knows it won't last forever. He's been told by his doctors that one day the drug will stop working - which he says he is prepared for. “I'm not in any way frightened of dying. That doesn't worry me. It's never worried me from the beginning, but I would be annoyed,” he said. “I'd be annoyed because there are things I still want to do. Very irritating, dying. But I'm not afraid of it.”

New docuseries “Top Gun: The Next Generation” is coming to National Geographic. National Geographic and Rex, a Zinc Media Group label, announced the documentary in a press release yesterday. Top Gun: The Next Generation gives unprecedented access to one of the U.S. Navy's most demanding training and selection programs. The show follows world-class U.S. Navy student pilots as they work to join the Navy's most elite strike fighter pilots. The series is inspired by the 1986 film Top Gun and its sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise. No word on a premiere date.

Suzanne Somers, known for her roles on “Three's Company” and “Step by Step,” has died. She was 76. She would have turned 77 today. She died yesterday morning. “Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,” Somers’ publicist R. Couri Hay wrote in a statement. “Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,” the statement continued. “Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.” A private family burial will take place this week, and a memorial will be held in November.

Two years after Fox announced the series order for Grimsburg, the cartoon starring Jon Hamm has finally been given a premiere date. The animated series, which already received a Season 2 renewal a year ago, will debut on Fox on Sunday, Jan. 7. Here’s the synopsis: Misanthropic Marvin Flut (voiced by Hamm) “may be the greatest detective ever to catch a cannibal clown or correctly identify a mid-century modern armoire. But there’s one mystery he still can’t crack — his family. Now that he’s back in Grimsburg, a town where everyone has a secret or three, Flute will follow every lead he’s got to redeem himself with the ex-wife he never stopped loving, even if it means hanging out with the son he never bothered to get to know.” Also starring in the series are: Erinn Hayes (Kevin Can Wait), Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live), Alan Tudyk (Harley Quinn), Kevin Michael Richardson (Family Guy) and Greg Chun (My Dad the Bounty Hunter), Variety reports.

Amazon just shared a teaser trailer for “Candy Cane Lane” starring Eddie Murphy and Jillian Bell. The movie follows Chris (Murphy), a man on a mission to win his neighborhood's annual Christmas home decoration contest. Chris inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Bell), who casts a magic spell that wreaks havoc on the whole town. "At the risk of ruining the holidays for his family, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper's spell, battle deviously magical characters, and save Christmas for everyone," an official synopsis reads. The teaser shows Chris wish for "the best Christmas ever" before signing his life away to Pepper. The movie hits Amazon Prime Video on Dec. 1.

Warner Bros. Pictures shared a trailer for the musical fantasy film “Wonka” yesterday, starring Timothée Chalamet. Wonka is a prequel to the Roald Dahl novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was previously adapted for film. The new movie provides an origin story for inventor and chocolatier Willy Wonka (Chalamet). Chalamet's Wonka is "chock-full of ideas and determined to change the world one delectable bite at a time -- proving that the best things in life begin with a dream, and if you're lucky enough to meet Willy Wonka, anything is possible," an official description reads. Also starring in the movie are: Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Olivia Colman and Hugh Grant. The movie hits theaters December 15.

The couple announced the news in typical low-key fashion, with a Vogue journalist casually writing about the baby’s arrival in Carey’s latest cover story. The interview, which appears in the November issue of the American version of the mag, was conducted when she was six weeks postpartum. Kevin McCarthy from the job. In private balloting at the Capitol, House Republicans narrowly pushed aside Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the Judiciary Committee chairman, in favor of Scalise, the current majority leader. The Louisiana congressman, who is battling blood cancer, is seen as a hero to some after surviving a shooting on lawmakers at a congressional baseball game practice in 2017. “We have a lot of work to do,” Scalise said afterward. A floor vote of the whole House was expected but then abandoned by nightfall.

Jada Pinkett Smith revealed in her new memoir, “Worthy,” that Chris Rock asked her out on a date amid rumors she was divorcing Will Smith a few years prior. Utah has become the third US state to file a lawsuit against TikTok, claiming the app knowingly made addicts out of the state's children. Utah officials alleged that “the social media giant illegally baits children into addictive and unhealthy use, misrepresents the app's safety, and deceptively portrays itself as independent of its China-based parent company.” Republican Gov. Spencer Cox announced the suit yesterday, joining Indiana and Arkansas which have made similar allegations.

The pairing of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling for the Barbie movie proved to be a huge success. And the two stars are set to reunite for an Ocean's 11 prequel that will be produced by Robbie's production company LuckyChap Entertainment. Director Jay Roach has signed on to helm the film, and the movie's plot will take place in Europe during the 60s. Producer Josey McNamara spoke to GamesRadar+ about the project and said: “I think we’re just trying to do right by the franchise. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready.”

Lou Ferrigno, the star of the 1970s TV series “The Incredible Hulk,” is accusing his own daughter of elder abuse - saying she took advantage of her mother, who has advanced dementia. Last month, Lou confirmed that his wife of 43 years, Carla, was suffering from dementia. And now, he’s taking legal action against their eldest daughter, 42-year-old Shanna. Along with her aunt, Shanna allegedly drove her mom to a bank and tried to withdraw $500,000 in cash - but they were stopped when the bank flagged the activity. Announcing his wife's illness, Ferrigno's spokesperson said: “She has severe memory impairment and psychosis, and is no longer the same person who Lou knew for decades. Even the Hulk must cope with the challenges of life in caring for a spouse with advanced dementia. Carla's dementia has significantly progressed.” Lou claims Shanna, a fitness trainer, and her aunt, Carla's sister Pam Vog, are seeking to access Carla's assets, and accuse them of financially exploiting Carla. Ferrigno says that his daughter and sister-in-law were initially angered when he filed the original request to take control of the couple's finances. Ferrigno argues that he took control of the money to ensure there were funds for her care. The star is seeking a restraining order, banning anyone except him from accessing their bank accounts.

Hulu announced yesterday it has renewed “Only Murders in the Building” for Season 4. Only Murders in the Building stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as Charles, Oliver and Mabel, three neighbors who investigate a murder in their New York apartment building. The show is Hulu's most-watched comedy original.

A second UK police probe has been launched into Russell Brand over allegations of sexual misconduct, according to a report. Over the weekend, Thames Valley Police confirmed it is investigating claims made by a woman who met Brand in 2015. The woman accused Brand of being a “sexual predator.” The authorities in Thames Valley have become the second police department to open an investigation Brand since a bombshell report last month included accusations from a number of women who said Brand sexually assaulted them. Brand has denied all wrongdoing.

A new movie about OceanGate’s Titan submersible tragedy is reportedly in the works despite a bunch of backlash on social media. The project, which is currently filming under the working title “Salvage,” is helmed by MindRiot Entertainment and will tell the story of events that occurred before, during and after the incident.
