John Oates Says He's 'Moved On' Amid Ongoing Legal Battle With Bandmate Daryl Hall

"I'm really proud of what Daryl and I created together," Oates said on David Yontef's 'Behind the Velvet Rope' podcast. John Oates says he's "moved on" amid his ongoing legal battle with Daryl Hall. In Wednesday's episode of David Yontef's Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, the Hall & Oates musician, 75, reflected on the impact of his work with Hall, 77. "You can't ignore the fact that the Hall & Oates catalog of hits and the 50-year career will always trump almost anything that Daryl does on his own or I do on my own, which is OK because I'm very proud of that music," Oates said on the podcast. "I'm really proud of what Daryl and I created together. I think we made music that will stand the test of time." He added, "I don't like to live in the past. I make the analogy of what it's like when you go to a great museum and you're really excited to go and see all the beautiful paintings or the exhibits or whatever it might be, and then near the end, your feet start to hurt and you say, 'You know what? I can't wait to get out of here.' That's kind of how I feel about it." The duo, which formed in Philadelphia in 1970, had "no time for reflection" at the height of their career, Oates recalled. "It was a lot of business demands, a lot of heavy demands... Daryl and I were at the top of the pop world. We had No. 1 record after No. 1 record. We were traveling around the world constantly. Everyone thinks that that was probably the high point of my life, but to be honest with you, it actually wasn't my favorite time," he said. He continued, "I have moved on. It's just a matter of living in my present." The "You Make My Dreams" artists have been embroiled in a legal battle since last month. Hall filed a lawsuit against Oates in order to stop Oates' alleged plans to sell his share of a joint business venture to a third party, which Hall argues would be a violation of a business agreement previously reached by the pair, per the complaint obtained by PEOPLE. The musicians entered into an agreement in October 2021 over Whole Oats Enterprises LLP (WOE), a limited liability partnership owned and controlled by the musicians, according to the complaint. However, on Nov. 9, Hall initiated an arbitration process against Oates to prevent his bandmate from transferring 100% of his right, title and interest in Whole Oats to a third-party buyer called Primary Wave Music without Hall's consent, a transaction he claims is "unauthorized and void" and a breach of contract. Hall alleges that Oates had entered into a letter of intent with Primary Wave that could've closed as early as Nov. 20, and Hall argued that the sale would cause him "imminent irreparable harm." No arbitrator had been chosen when Hall's court complaint was filed on Nov. 16, leaving him unable to pursue his pending request in the arbitration for temporary injunctive relief in the manner requested. In the documents, Hall claimed that he sought the restraining order against Oates -- which was granted the next day -- in order to close the Primary Wave transaction "so as to maintain the status quo of WOE before there is a change in control of the partnership in violation of the terms of the Agreement." According to the Associated Press, Primary Wave has already owned significant interest in the Grammy-nominated musicians' song catalog for more than 15 years. Hall's attorneys said much of the matter should remain under seal because it is a "private dispute... This is not a matter of legitimate public interest, although the parties are well known." His legal team noted that the dispute addresses the interpretation of the 2021 agreement, the terms of which remain confidential. The case will ultimately be decided in a confidential arbitration process. (People)

Shia LaBeouf Was On Daddy Duty Christmas Eve

Shia LaBeouf was on daddy duty Christmas Eve ... spending some quality time with his daughter Isabel at Universal Studios Hollywood. With the one-year-old strapped to his back in a baby carrier ... the actor stirred up more excitement running around following a meet and greet with The Grinch. Fatherhood clearly suits Shia, who was filmed by onlookers grinning ear to ear ... and stopping to chat with people who recognized him. Shia welcomed Isabel with actress Mia Goth last year ... revealing months later on Jon Bernthal's podcast, "Real Ones," his daughter makes him want to transform into a stand-up guy. This comes after his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf in 2020 for assault and sexual battery. The trial date is set for October 2024. (TMZ)

Eminem Seeks Protect Order From 'RHOP' Stars Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon

Eminem has requested a protective order against Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon in their ongoing trademark dispute over the "Real Housewives of Potomac" stars "Reasonably Shady" podcast. The "Lose Yourself" rapper filed the motion on Dec. 15 so he would not have to show up in person for a deposition with the Bravolebrities, according to docs obtained by AllHipHop. Eminem -- whose real name is Marshall Mathers, but is known by the moniker Slim Shady and Shady -- argued that it would be "unduly burdensome" if he were to appear in court and claimed he has a "limited knowledge of the subjects at issue." His attorneys offered three people, including the rapper's manager Paul Rosenberg, who would be willing to appear, as they have "equal and superior knowledge to [him] on the relevant topics." However, according to the rapper's lawyers, Dixon and Bryant have "remain[ed] insistent on deposing Mathers," so they are asking for "a protective order precluding the deposition of Marshall Mathers." Dixon, 44, and Bryant, 53, have yet to respond to the request, nor did their attorney immediately return Page Six's request for comment. The trademark battle began after the "Real Housewives" stars filed to trademark their podcast's name, "Reasonably Shady," in an intention to sell various pieces of merchandise in February 2023. But just a few weeks later, Eminem filed an opposition to Bryant and Dixon's trademark request. The "Real Slim Shady" rapper, 51, claimed that his brand would be "damaged," and the two brands could "cause confusion in the minds of consumers." The reality TV stars have since fought back against the millionaire rapper and asked the judge to deny his opposition in a March 2023 filing. "Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant deny any likelihood of confusion between Mather's trademarks and their Reasonably Shady mark," their attorney, Andrea Evans, told Page Six at the time. "We are prepared to defend any allegations against them regarding their intellectual property." Bryant and Dixon launched their "Reasonably Shady" podcast in 2021 and have since become one of the most successful podcasts released by Bravo stars. (PageSix)

Ozzy Osbourne Is Not Dead, Says Ozzy Osbourne After Inaccurate Reports Surface

Ozzy Osbourne hopped on The Osbournes podcast for a New Year's special. And what better way to bring in a new beginning than by talking about the end? During the discussion, Ozzy discussed how he stumbled across a video of celebrities who had died -- and was shocked when he saw his face being included. "The thing on YouTube, it's got 'Celebrities Who Died Today', and there's a picture of me," he said before making a reference to Monty Python. "I'm not dead! I'm not really dead, just a little flesh wound." "I'm not dead, I'm not going any-f*cking-where," Ozzy added, making it very clear that he isn't planning on being in those types of videos anytime soon. "And I'm gonna go and do some more gigs before I'm finished, anyway." His wife, Sharon, also stepped in, to call the creators of those hoaxes and videos about death speculation some "sick f*ckers." In their defense, Ozzy is 75 years old, so whoever made the video just very well could not have known. Although they probably should've done a quick Google search, it could have been just a case of mistaken memory. (Uproxx)

Travis Kelce Says He Needs to 'Keep His Cool' After Chiefs-Raiders Game Sideline Outburst

"As a leader on this team that's not how you switch momentum," he noted during an episode of the 'New Heights' podcast. Travis Kelce is opening up about the Kansas City Chiefs' loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day, and his emotional sideline outburst during the game. The tight end spoke about the game, which his team lost to the Raiders 20-14, during a new episode of the New Heights podcast. "We handed that team a win on Christmas. We literally played Santa and gave them a present," Kelce said. "That was embarrassing ... It's frustrating when you know you got the guys and you got everybody that you need and things just aren't going your way." In the first half of their Christmas game, the Chiefs managed to secure only 121 total offensive yards and were trailing the Raiders 17?7, causing some fans to boo from the stands. After throwing his helmet to the ground, Kelce was seen talking to quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs coach Andy Reid. During a post-game interview, Reid noted that "things happen" during an "emotional game," but maintained that Kelce "went back in and did a nice job." "He (Reid) is looking out for me and I love him for it," Kelce responded during the podcast. However, he disagreed with the coach's kind words about his performance. "I didn't go back out there and play good," he continued. "He wanted to see the fire in me and I reacted in a bad way. He wanted to get the best out of me and right now I'm just not playing my best football." Kelce added, "I gotta f------ lock the f--- in and be more accountable for him and be more accountable for my teammates," he continued. "I gotta keep my f------ cool, man, 'cause as a leader on this team, that's not how you switch the momentum." Despite losing the game, Kelce managed to record his 900th career catch while facing off against the Raiders, an accolade that his brother, Jason Kelce, reminded him of during the podcast episode. Kelce's Christmas Day face-off against the Raiders was also attended by his father, Ed Kelce, as well as his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and her parents, Scott and Andrea Swift. The Chiefs will face the Cincinnati Bengals in a home game at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, Dec. 31. (People)

Miley Cyrus Can See a 'Healthy' and 'Positive' Future With Boyfriend Maxx Morando

Miley Cyrus is looking forward to the future with boyfriend Maxx Morando. "Miley could see a healthy, positive and fruitful life with Maxx," a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. "She's learning from her past marriage and relationships and wants to build toward a better future with him." While the couple is "doing great," Cyrus, 31, isn't in a rush to settle down with Morando, 25. "Miley is very much in love," the insider adds, noting that she's open to getting walking down the aisle again. (Cyrus was previously married to Liam Hemsworth, whom she began dating in 2009. The duo split in 2019 after less than one year of marriage.) Us confirmed in February 2022 that Cyrus and Morando were "exploring things and seeing where it goes," but Cyrus had actually name-dropped Morando during an interview months prior. "This look is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between two of my favorite emerging artists, Maxx Morando and Shane Kastl," she said during a September 2021 interview with Vogue. "Their collaboration is the perfect example of sustainability becoming the next fashion phase, and it proves that anything can be reinvented, which resonates with me deeply." In November of that year, Cyrus posed with Morando at the Gucci Love Parade event, but things didn't get romantic until the following year. "We got put on a blind date," Cyrus told British Vogue this past May, revealing that her first outing with Morando occurred a few summers ago. "Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, 'The worst that can happen is I leave.'" Things worked out for the twosome. When news of Cyrus and Morando's relationship first broke, a separate source told Us in March 2022 that the couple was "having fun and have been spending a lot of time together." The insider went on to say that Cyrus and Morando were "very compatible with each other" and had been "exploring things and seeing where it goes." When Cyrus was working on her Endless Summer Vacation album, which was released in March, Morando was a big help. He even produced two songs on the record. "My boyfriend brings his phone and I don't bring one. I had no way of knowing what number it would [chart at], and it wasn't of importance to me because it wouldn't have changed anything," Cyrus told British Vogue of her album. "Someone could say, 'It would be this number if you did that, or this number if you sell your soul.' I've been in the Garden of Eden before and I've taken the red apple, and it never feels good." When it comes to communicating with Morando, however, Cyrus told the outlet she has a special "boyfriend sexy ringtone" for her man. Bijou Phillips Enjoys Bahamas Getaway 3 Months After Filing for Divorce From Danny Masterson: 'Most Needed Vacation'

Bijou Phillips is soaking up the sun this holiday season.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the actress and model, 43, shared a series of photos from her serene getaway at Goldwynn Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. In the first slide, Phillips shared a glimpse of her stunning view that overlooked the turquoise waters. She rocked a red and white plaid swimsuit as she lounged on the beach in another shot.

“Having the most needed vacation ever! ??????????????????,” she captioned the post.

Another photo showed her soaking up the sun beside her brother-in-law, Billy Baldwin. The actor, who is married to Chynna Phillips, dropped a comment on his sister-in-law’s post: “Looking good sista… ??”

Bijou also shared some holiday festivities to her Instagram Story during her tropical getaway, including singing carols with her niece Brooke Baldwin in front of a sparkling Christmas tree.

The vacation comes nearly three months after Bijou filed for divorce from her husband of nearly 12 yearsDanny Masterson, in September. The That 70's Show actor, 47, was convicted of raping two women and received a sentence of 30 years to life for his crimes earlier that month.

In the filing, "irreconcilable differences" were cited as the reason for their split and Bijou also requested full custody of their 9-year-old daughter Fianna.

"Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter," Phillips' lawyer Peter A. Lauzon told PEOPLE in a statement at the time.

He continued, "This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family. Mr. Masterson was always present for Ms. Phillips during her most difficult times of her life. Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter. She hopes that everyone will respect her family's privacy in these difficult times."

In October, Masterson signed over full legal and physical custody of their daughter to his estranged wife and requested visitation rights, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Ryan O'Neal Is Buried Next to Farrah Fawcett in Los Angeles 2 Weeks After His Death

Ryan O'Neal has been laid to rest next to his longtime partner Farrah Fawcett.

The actor, who died Dec. 8, at age 82, was buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary in Los Angeles, according to his death certificate, obtained by PEOPLE.

His burial service was held on Saturday at the gravesite next to Fawcett, who died at 62 in 2009, according to reports by Deadline and photos of the burial service published by The Daily Mail.

The photos showed Ryan's son Patrick O'Neal, 56, in attendance, as well as Ryan's ex-wife Leigh Taylor-Young and actress Alana Stewart, a friend of Fawcett's.

While Ryan and Fawcett never married, they began dating in 1979 and had an on-off relationship that lasted until her death.

O'Neal died of congestive heart failure and had suffered from cardiomyopathy for years, according to his death certificate.

Patrick announced his father's death on Dec. 8, when he shared on Instagram that Ryan "passed away peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us" alongside a photo of a beach at sunset.

"He is a Hollywood legend. Full stop," Patrick wrote at the time.

On Christmas Day, Patrick shared a photo of a beach at sunset on his Instagram Story as he wrote, "1st Christmas without my dad. Prayers up. We miss you."

After Ryan's death, his daughter and Paper Moon costar Tatum O’Neal honored her dad in a statement to PEOPLE.

"I feel great sorrow with my father's passing," she said. "He meant the world to me. I loved him very much and know he loved me too. I'll miss him forever and I feel very lucky that we ended on such good terms."

Ryan and Fawcett first fell in love while she was married to The Six Million Dollar Man star Lee Majors, who asked Ryan to check in on Fawcett while he was away filming. They went on a date, which Ryan once described to the Los Angeles Times: “We sat and kissed and kissed until our lips were bloody.”
The couple shared son Redmond O'Neal, who was born in 1985.
“I loved her with all my heart,” Ryan told PEOPLE after Fawcett's death in 2009. “I will miss her so very, very much.”

Bradley Cooper's High School Opinion Piece About Best Friends Hooking Up Resurfaces

Bradley Cooper's high school opinion piece about best friends hooking up has resurfaced amid his budding romance with supermodel, Gigi Hadid.

The Oscar-nominated actor, 48 - whose latest project, Maestro, was released on Netflix earlier this week - wrote the article back in 1993 when he was a senior in high school at Germantown Academy, per the New York Post.

The piece was published in the teen section of the Philadelphia Daily News, and he began with the question: 'Can best friends who are of the opposite sex hook up with each other without destroying their friendship?'

He then continued, 'In my case, yes...so far. I know that once you take that step over the platonic line everything is supposed to change.'

'Suddenly you start to hate that guy she always told you was hot. But that's not really true in my case.'

The Hangover actor explained that both he and 'best friend' Deborah Landes 'still talk to other people, although the conversation does get a little more tense.'

Cooper added that the pair were able to 'cross that line' and 'maintain' their friendship because 'we really don't know how to be anything other than best friends.'

The star also explained that there 'has always been an underlying attraction between the two of us.' But due to his friend dating someone else for some time, the pair couldn't 'fathom the idea' of being anything aside from best friends.

After Deborah broke up with her boyfriend, the two 'talked about' their feelings for each other. Although he had initially assumed that dating each other would feel 'weird,' he admitted that it had been 'very relaxed.'

'We have simply brought our friendship to another level,' Bradly added, and later expressed that the pair were simply enjoying their time together before graduating.

'Because once college hits, our relationship will definitely return to a "best friendship."'

In conclusion, Cooper had penned, 'It is somewhat easy to say that everything is cool now, because we are still in school. The real test will probably come when I have to hear about how much fun she is having at the shore this summer.'

Earlier this week, the Hollywood star stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon while promoting the biographical drama, Maestro.

During the interview, Bradley had a humorous conversation about his 30th high school reunion that he recently attended. 'It was great,' the star said of the experience.

'I got there early,' the father-of-one continued, followed by a short pause. Fallon then said, 'So you went there. You went there early.'

Cooper nodded and while starting to laugh, he responded with 'Yeah.' The audience also burst out laughing during the funny moment.

While attempting to discuss the reunion, both the actor and talk show host kept laughing and had trouble staying serious. At one point, the SNL alum asked, 'Who'd you see at first?'

Bradley laughingly replied with, 'I saw, like, people I went to high school with,' which prompted Fallon to say, 'Oh, you're kidding me!'

After another moment laughter, Cooper was able to tell the story and recalled, 'I was early and I put the sign out front. It said Germantown Academy and then people came and I welcomed them and I put my name tag.'

'When I was in high school, I used to go by Brad and now I go by Bradley. I felt it was some weird imposter but that is my real name Bradley.'

Jimmy asked if his former classmates ever get starstruck, and the actor said, 'No, it was awesome. It was just regular. I think time has passed and it was just cool.'

Bradley's resurfaced opinion piece also comes amid his budding romance with model, Gigi Hadid.

The pair were first romantically linked in October after they were spotted grabbing dinner together in the Big Apple.

Cooper and Hadid have been seen on various occasions since then, including earlier this month when the beauty supported the actor at the grand opening of his new food truck earlier this month in NYC.

He opened the mobile eatery with Angelo's Pizzeria owner, Danny DiGiampietro, called Danny and Coops Cheesesteaks.

A source told People in an article published on Friday that their relationship is 'going really well' and added 'They are getting more and more serious. Gigi's been spending time in Philadelphia with Bradley too.'

'They were pretty low-key when they were in town recently and had a date night in a private room at a local restaurant.'

The insider continued, 'They were quietly dating for much longer before it went public and were very hush-hush, trying to see if things would work between them. They had several months together privately and things have been going really well.'

Bradley previously dated supermodel Irina Shayk and the former couple share daughter Lea, six - who recently made a cameo in Maestro.

Bethenny Frankel TROLLS Kim Kardashian Over Lavish Christmas Decorations Including Fake Snow

Bethenny Frankel took aim at Kim Kardashian over her lavish decorations for the  annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve bash which included heaps of fake snow, tons of Christmas trees, and even a massive gingerbread house.
The 53-year-old SkinnyGirl founder - who has been enjoying a holiday in Aspen over the past few days -  took to her Instagram on Sunday to make fun of the 43-year-old SKIMS mogul.

Earlier in the day, Kim shared a video from her property hours before the party as she showed off an absurd amount of fake snow and several firs.

Bethenny responded by sharing a self-taken video of herself in the snow in Aspen, Colorado.

She said: 'Wanna see Kim Kardashian's living room? I'm here right now. Looks good, she did a good job with her decorations don't you think?

Bethenny Frankel took aim at Kim Kardashian over her lavish decorations for the annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve bash which included heaps of fake snow , tons of Christmas trees, and even a massive gingerbread house.

The 53-year-old SkinnyGirl founder - who has been enjoying a holiday in Aspen over the past few days - took to her Instagram on Sunday to make fun of the 43-year-old SKIMS mogul

Earlier in the day, Kim shared a video from her property hours before the party as she showed off an absurd amount of fake snow and

'God I am so glad she invited me to this. This looks really good Kim. Honestly some of your best work. Happy holidays!'

Bethenny certainly seemed to be having fun as she panned around to show off the snowy Colorado city.

It didn't end there as she captioned the funny video to her  3.3million followers: 'No one does holiday decorations like the Kardashians… Happy Holidays! #kimkardashian #holidaydecor #keepitreal #humor #snow #happyholidays #holidays.'

Meanwhile the Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party is often the most lavish celebrity-filled event of the holiday season and this year's edition certainly lived up to the hype.

The event took place in their hometown of Calabasas, California which is not exactly known for frigid temperatures but that did not stop the family from having the entire property owned by Kim Kardashian covered in fake snow.

Kylie Jenner and her mini-me daughter Stormi may have stole the spotlight, but it was Kim Kardashian and BFF Paris Hilton who certainly seemed to have the most fun as they sled in the man-made ice together.

That certainly was not the only thing the famous family did to make the annual bash epic as the property was lined with several lit Christmas trees, the inside of the bash was decorated with logs stacked up very high, and there were massive gingerbread houses constructed.

One way the family was able to put together such a lavish affair was that the celeb-packed event was sponsored by beverage giant Coca-Cola.

There were even glass bottles of the sugary beverage with 'Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve Party 2023' written on the label in addition to Coca-Cola branding being featured all over the event including on the log-lined walls.

However, many social media users couldn't help but slam that the family, which has multiple billionaires, needed to use a corporate sponsor to throw the event.

One user brought up the Israel-Palestine conflict as they wrote on X (formally Twitter): 'Kim Kardashian hosting a Coke sponsored Christmas party. You can't convince me this sh*t isn't deliberate. You're a billionaire, maybe pay for your own parties.  Ones that aren't funding a ge-no-cide.'

Meanwhile attendees at the holiday celebration wore their best formal ensembles despite the playful theme and activities like sledding.

Kylie Jenner and her mini-me daughter Stormi stole the spotlight at the annual Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve soiree.

The makeup mogul, 26, took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday night to share incredible clips of her pre-party activities, including getting glam with her adorable 5-year-old girl she shares with Travis Scott.

The iconic mother-daughter duo looked like holiday princesses in their matching gold gowns, which were described as 'custom Dolce' by Kylie in one of the BTS videos.

Kylie's gown featured a figure-hugging silhouette, while Stormi looked too cute in a puffy sleeved dress featuring a billowing skirt.

As she recorded the pair getting all gussied up for the bash, with Stormi twirling alongside her, Kylie hilariously sang: 'Still gotta put my shoes on!'

In a later clip, Stormi could be seen entering the Kardashian-Jenner shindig on the arm of a friend.

Kylie then shared a clip from inside the party where she recorded herself in the dress once again.

She also added a hilarious video of her BFF Anastasia 'Stassie' Karanikolaou pretending to answer a high heel purse with a phone in it.

Taylor Swift: Inside The Madness To Purchase Her Time Person Of The Year Covers

Since news broke that Taylor Swift was Time's 2023 Person of the Year, fans have scoured the internet to get their hands on physical copies of the magazine. As it turns out, demand is high.

Hitting newsstands on Dec. 15, the magazine features the singer on three separate covers: One shows her wearing a denim shirt and tan jacket; another has her in a gray bedazzled dress; and in a third, one of her pet cats, Benjamin Button, is draped across her shoulders.

A representative from Time tells Yahoo Entertainment that 238,808 physical copies of the magazine have been preordered online as of Dec. 13. That number does not include newsstand sales, which "are on track to be up 133%" in the U.S. alone.

It's the highest-selling issue in Time's recent history, besting only its May 2011 issue featuring Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding, which sold 232,000 copies online and on newsstands. Comparatively, 2022's Person of the Year issue with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sold a total of 65,000 physical copies in combined online and newsstand sales.

Most coveted cover

According to data from Time, 63,926 bundles, a single purchase for all three covers, have been preordered online. There have been 33,817 preorders for Swift's cat cover alone, while 10,153 fans have preordered the denim shirt image and 3,057 have selected Swift's gray dress cover.

Natalie Grillo, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, preordered the cat cover. She says she's been counting the days for it to arrive.

"Just when you think she couldn't make cats cooler, she drapes Benjamin Button around her neck," she tells Yahoo Entertainment. "These covers looked more natural, and stripped all the glamour away to focus on who she is and has always been: a natural beauty who loves her cats."

For Stormy Kelly, a 33-year-old clothing designer who sews and curates Swift-inspired outfits via TikTok, it'll be the first time she's bought a physical magazine since 2003. She says it's worth the trip to her local bookstore on Dec. 15 — even if it means waiting in line for hours.

"I am so excited to get this magazine," she tells Yahoo Entertainment. "Taylor is on top of the world and it's well deserved after all her hard work. The best part is she acknowledges that it won't last forever, so it'll be nice to have a little piece of this moment in history."

Sara Reiner, who lives in Denver, is excited to make her physical copies into family heirlooms.

"I love the thought of keeping this magazine for my future kids because, let's be honest, she will still be around and be just as iconic," she tells Yahoo Entertainment. "There isn't a world we live in without Taylor. And if there is, I don't want to live there. All I want for Christmas is a Taylor Swift cover."

What's more is what the singer means to so many.

"Taylor has been present throughout my roller-coaster life," Reiner shares. "I imagine that's true for many girls around the world who are growing up with her. She looks so flawless on the cover without even trying. If anyone else had a cat around their neck, we'd call them crazy."

Suzanne Ely, a self-proclaimed "senior Swiftie" from Los Angeles, says the hoopla surrounding the covers is a perfect escape from "the viciousness of our world right now."

"Time's Person of the Year still carries currency," she tells Yahoo Entertainment. "In every way, Taylor dominated the conversation this year in music, performance, celebrity, talent and creativity — and even sports. It's fabulous to see a smart, talented and accomplished young woman being celebrated for being at the top of her game."

Emily Wilbanks, who lives in Houston, says she was "excited to read the cover story" when it was first published online Dec. 6. Now, she's even more excited to get her hands on the physical magazines to scour the pages for "Easter eggs" that "only the biggest Swifties can decipher."

"After the 'Eras' tour, it really did feel like a new era for Taylor," she explains. "In the covers, you could tell she had a lot of creative freedom."

'Cover star phenomenon'

Ahead of the covers hitting newsstands on Dec. 15, retailers are preparing.

Krifka Steffey, director of Newsstand, the in-house department overseeing the buying for newsstands across all Barnes & Noble stores, tells Yahoo Entertainment she's expecting to sell "over 50,000" copies of Swift's Time covers "in a matter of days" across all locations.

That shouldn't come as a surprise, given that Barnes & Noble shoppers "cannot get enough of the titles she's featured in," says Steffey, noting that Swift merchandise — be it magazines, mugs, shirts or other accessories — traditionally sells out quickly.

The only other celebrity to have this much selling power at Barnes & Noble, Steffey points out, is Swift's ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, whose past covers for Rolling Stone and Better Homes & Gardens were among their bestsellers.

"Taylor has been the only other celebrity to date with comparative sales to Harry," she says. As successful as Styles's covers were, however, locations never expected to "sell out in a matter of days." But they do for Swift. That's what makes this moment unique, particularly when it comes to the future of print media.

"Taylor Swift has been our 2023 top magazine cover star phenomenon," says Steffey. "Over the past few years, print media has continued to evolve to compete with digital by offering what digital can't."

By including "posters and additional goodies inside an issue," she explains, magazines are a "physical celebration of whatever the topic is that is of interest to the reader."

The quality of magazines has also increased. As a result, Steffey says, a younger demographic wants "high-quality, physical items that feature their favorite artists to add to their collections."

Vin Diesel's Ex-Assistant Sues Star For Sexual Battery & Retaliation

Vin Diesel’s former assistant accused the actor of sexually molesting her in Atlanta during the filming of Fast Five in 2010, and then firing her soon afterwards in retaliation. “Vin Diesel forcibly grabbed Ms. Jonasson, groped her breasts, and kissed her,” says the 10-claim sexual battery, discrimination, retaliation complaint filed in LA Superior Court. “Ms. Jonasson struggled continually to break free of his grasp, while repeatedly saying no. Vin Diesel is physically larger and much stronger than Ms. Jonasson, and abused his position of authority as her employer, and was able to easily overpower Ms. Jonasson,” the suit says of the alleged attack in the Georgia city’s St. Regis Hotel by the Fast and the Furious franchise star after a night of seemingly hard partying with hostesses he met at a nearby club. “Vin Diesel ignored Ms. Jonasson’s clear statements of non-consent to his sexual assaults.” The complaint included other inappropriate behavior. Though no specific figure is cited in the jury seeking complaint, Jonasson is pursuing a variety of damages against Vin Diesel. Among those damages are “punitive and exemplary damages in an amount sufficient to punish Defendants, and to make an example of and deter Defendants from engaging in such conduct in the future.”

Report Claims Kicking Balls Used During Chiefs' Win Over The Patriots On Sunday Not Inflated Properly

A report from Mass Live claims kicking balls used during the Kansas City Chiefs' win over the New England Patriots on Sunday weren't inflated properly, nearly nine years on from the scandal surrounding Bill Belichick and Tom Brady in 2015. The outlet reported that officials took balls meant for each team's kicking units into the locker room at Gillette Stadium at halftime last weekend to measure their weights following several complaints made. There, referees found out that the balls weighed 11 pounds per square inch. That's 1.5 pounds less than the NFL's minimum standard of 12.5 PSI. The maximum weight that a ball can be inflated to is 13.5 PSI. “They were all sitting around at 11 PSI. The threshold is usually 13.5,” an anonymous source told MassLive. “The Patriots told the refs they were a little underinflated or they felt that way. At halftime, they confirmed and obviously put air in them.” It's unclear specifically if the underinflated balls had penalized either team, as Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker and Patriots kicker Chad Ryland missed field goals in the first half.

Drew Barrymore Caressed Oprah - Fans Didn't Like It

Drew Barrymore is facing criticism after holding onto Oprah Winfrey’s hand for dear life in a cringy clip making its way around the internet. Oprah appeared on “The Drew Barrymore Show” yesterday; she praised Drew for starting her daytime talk show during the COVID pandemic when she wasn’t allowed to film with a live audience. But as they talked, Barrymore, who often cozies up to her guests or touches them throughout her interviews, tightly held Oprah’s hand close to her chin with no intention of letting go. The touchy-feely interaction didn’t sit right with people on social media. “Oprah’s body language was so clear she wanted her hand back,” one person wrote in the comments section on the talk show’s Instagram account. “Drew, everyone doesn’t want their hands held boo,” another chimed in.

Burglars Hit Keanu Reeves' Home

Keanu Reeves' house in Los Angeles was reportedly burglarized Wednesday night. The actor wasn’t home at the time when multiple men wearing ski masks broke into his home, stole a firearm and fled the scene before cops arrived. At approximately 7:00 p.m., an anonymous tip about a possible intruder at Reeves' residence - which was previously targeted in 2014 - prompted the LAPD to respond, resulting in an investigation. No trespassers were found. Around 1:00 a.m., police received a report of an activated alarm at the premises. This time, security cameras captured individuals wearing ski masks breaking through a window and entering the house. The robbers stole one firearm before making a getaway. Investigators are currently reviewing footage from both Reeves' home and the surrounding neighborhood in search of additional clues.

Michael B Jordan Accidentally Pumped The Gas Instead Of The Break In $400K Ferrari Crash

Creed star Michael B Jordan smashed his $429,000 Ferrari into a parked car, with insiders claiming he accidentally pumped the gas pedal instead of the brake. The actor was seen talking to cops next to his wrecked vehicle outside Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, Los Angeles, just after 11:30 last Saturday. “It was an actual accident,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “Michael was annoyed that he ruined his car, but that can get fixed. He was, and is, embarrassed about it all as he accidentally had his foot on the gas and didn't brake in time. One thing lead to another and the parked car was where it was, and all the puzzle pieces just landed in an unfortunate way. He is happy nobody was hurt.”

"All G-Unit Film & Television proceeds from this Documentary will go to victims of Sexual Assault and Rape," the rapper said in the accompanying caption.

Taylor Swift Slams Kim Kardashian In Time Interview

Taylor Swift criticized Kim Kardashian for orchestrating a psychological takedown that led her to retreat from public view during their prolonged feud. Swift, recently honored as Time's Person of the Year, opened up about the conflict stemming from Kanye West's 2016 song, which featured explicit lyrics about her. Despite West's claim of Swift's consent, a dispute arose when Kim released what Swift termed as "an illegally recorded phone call," aiming to contradict her denial. Swift said the aftermath of the public fallout felt like a "career death," asserting, "Make no mistake—my career was taken away from me." In an interview with Time, she detailed the impact of the situation, citing a manipulated narrative through the edited, illegally recorded phone call released by Kim Kardashian. This, according to Swift, took a severe toll on her mental well-being, prompting her to relocate to a foreign country and remain secluded for a year, avoiding phone calls out of fear. While Swift didn’t specify her new location, she started dating British actor Joe Alwyn in late 2016, and there were widespread rumors suggesting she rented a home in London to be closer to him.

Jennifer Lopez Attached To Star In 'Kiss Of The Spider Woman' Musical Film

Jennifer Lopez is attached to star in a feature adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” written and directed by “Dreamgirls” filmmaker Bill Condon. The musical is set in an Argentinian prison in 1981. Lopez would play the titular role, a fantasy woman named Aurora created by Luis Molina, a gay hairdresser serving an eight-year sentence for allegedly corrupting a minor. To escape the horrors of his imprisonment, Molina imagines movies starring Aurora as a classic silver screen diva, including a role of the spider woman, who kills her prey with a kiss. Molina’s life is upended when a Marxist, Valentin Arregui Paz, is brought into his cell, and the two form an unlikely bond.

"Yellowstone" Creator Taylor Sheridan's Ranch Is Suing Star Cole Hauser's Coffee Brand

“Yellowstone” star Cole Hauser‘s coffee brand, Free Rein Coffee Company, is being sued by Bosque Ranch — which is owned by the show’s creator Taylor Sheridan. A lawsuit was filed last month by the ranch against Free Rein in the Northern District of Texas’ federal court in San Angelo for trademark infringement. It cited unfair competition and false advertising in the filing. The suit claimed that Free Rein uses “a brand mark strikingly similar to Bosque Ranch’s registered trademark, potentially misleading consumers.” Both the caffeine company and the ranch use a similar logo, with the letters B and R intertwining. Hauser plays cowboy Rip Wheeler on the Western. He launched the company with his three friends Karl Pfluger, Aron Marquez and Paul Anderson.

Susan Sarandon Is Dropped By Production Company

Susan Sarandon just took another hit; she was dropped by a production company following her anti-Jewish rant at a pro-Palestine rally in New York City. The production company that was considering Sarandon for a short film revealed to Page Six that they were no longer planning to work with the star. “As a company, PTO Films would like to make it clear that Susan Sarandon's views do not reflect the opinions of our organization,” David Barroso, co-founder of the indie film company, said. “We were considering her for a short film, but due to her recent statements, we have decided to pursue other options,” he told Page Six. Sarandon was set to appear in the short film “Slipping Away.”

Billie Eilish Accuses Variety Of 'Outing' Her In Cover Story

Billie Eilish has asked people to stop discussing her sexuality as she accused a magazine of "outing" her. The singer suggested she was attracted to women in a recent cover interview for Variety. And at the magazine's Hitmakers awards over the weekend, Billie was asked on-camera if she had meant to come out. Billie's since sarcastically thanked Variety for "outing" her "instead of talking about anything else that matters." Although Billie seemed upbeat during the red carpet chat on Saturday, her Instagram post wasn't so chilled. "Thanks Variety for my award and also outing me on a red carpet at 11am instead of talking to me about anything else that matters," she wrote. "I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares."

Nicolas Cage Ready To Quit Doing Movies

Nicolas Cage wants to do TV. In fact, after another few movies, the actor said in a recent interview that he only wants to do TV — unless something very special or a revisitation of one of his favorite big-screen roles, like sequels to Face/Off or Ghost Rider, emerges. Cage told Uproxx: “I do want to explore other formats. I am very interested in immersion streaming with episodic television. I have seen things that can be done now with characters and the time they’re given to express themselves. I saw Bryan Cranston stare at a suitcase for an hour on one episode of Breaking Bad. We don’t have time to do that in a feature film, so maybe television is the next best step for me. We’ll see.”

Her contract is currently being negotiated. The drama is set to air on Hulu with a big series commitment and will be Murphy's first series under his new Disney deal, with 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, producing.
