Kanye West is being sued for racial discrimination by one of his former security guards. The lawsuit has been brought forward by Benjamin Deshon Provo – who worked for the rapper at both his Donda Academy school and at a warehouse used as storage for the Yeezy brand of clothing. In the filing, the former employee alleges that Kanye subjected his Black employees to “less favorable treatment than their White counterparts,” and People reported that the lawsuit also claims that the rapper “frequently screamed at and berated Black employees,” and ultimately fired Provo for refusing to cut his dreadlocks.

Jerry Seinfeld said in an interview with The New Yorker that “P.C. crap” and the “extreme left” is making television comedy go extinct. He said viewers no longer flock to their TVs in order to get their comedy fix like they did for decades. “Nothing really affects comedy. People always need it. They need it so badly and they don’t get it,” Seinfeld said. “It used to be, you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, ‘Oh, “Cheers” is on. Oh, “MASH” is on. Oh, “Mary Tyler Moore” is on. “All in the Family” is on.’ You just expected, ‘There’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight.’ Well, guess what—where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and P.C. crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people.” He said comedy fans are “now going to see stand-up comics because we are not policed by anyone. The audience polices us. We know when we’re off track. We know instantly and we adjust to it instantly. But when you write a script and it goes into four or five different hands, committees, groups—’Here’s our thought about this joke.’ Well, that’s the end of your comedy.”

Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms are out at CBS’ “The NFL Today” as the NFL studio show undergoes a huge makeover with Matt Ryan and JJ Watt joining James Brown, Nate Burleson and Bill Cowher. The former Jets quarterback announced yesterday morning that he is stepping away from the position and that he signed a long-term deal to remain with WFAN as co-host of their morning show with Gregg Giannotti. “More their decision than maybe mine,” Esiason said of CBS. Simms, who helped the Giants win two Super Bowls, announced the news on X. “Great 26 yrs run with CBS SPORTS. Even though that part of my career is over I look forward to what is next..,” he wrote.

CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced a deal Friday for the American Music Awards to air on CBS and stream on Paramount+. The 2024 ceremony will be Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. EDT. The American Music Awards previously aired on ABC. The show took 2023 off. 2024 will mark the 50th anniversary of the American Music Awards. The AMA nominees and winners are chosen by fans using metrics album sales, song sales, radio airplay and Billboard charts.

Paramount+ announced the Rosemary's Baby prequel Apartment 7A on Friday. The movie premieres this fall on the streaming service. Julia Garner leads the cast that also includes Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess and Kevin McNally. The movie is about the previous residents of Rosemary's apartment. The 1968 adaptation of Ira Levin's book starred Mia Farrow as the woman impregnated with Satan's child. Garner will play an injured dancer. Rosemary's husband, Guy, was also in the arts as a theater actor.

Zendaya's new movie, Challengers, is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $15 million over the weekend.

More than 250 recording artists have signed a letter to the Senate Committee on Commerce in support of a bill advocating for ticket sale transparency and consumer protections against bots. Billie Eilish, Dave Mathews, Cyndi Lauper, Lorde, Sia, Train, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, Graham Nash, Becky G, and Chappell Roan are among the signees urging Congress to pass the Fans First Act (S. 3457). The bill addresses the live event ticketing system. The letter claims current practices leave fans and artists alike exposed to the predatory practices of bad actors within the secondary ticketing market.

Jennifer Aniston is looking to produce a reimagining of the 1980 comedy 9 to 5. Starring Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda, the movie followed three female office employees who turn the tables on their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot boss played by Dabney Coleman. The movie grossed over $103 million.

Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was found guilty in 2020 in New York for sexual assault crimes, but those convictions have now been overturned. He was initially found guilty of serious offenses, like criminal sexual act and rape, in a New York City court and was given a 23-year prison sentence. Weinstein was accused of forcing a woman into oral sex in 2006 and raping another woman in 2013. His lawyer argued that he didn't get a fair trial because of the judge and claimed the focus was on Weinstein's character rather than the evidence. It's uncertain if he'll face another trial for these charges, but he's still in prison because of convictions in California from 2022. In that trial, he was found guilty of similar sex crimes, including forcible rape and sexual penetration.

 

The April 13 episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Ryan Gosling, was the most-watched SNL in more than two years, NBC announced yesterday. The episode brought in 8.9 million total viewers across all platforms, the most since the Dec. 11, 2021 episode hosted by Billie Eilish.

Apple TV+ has moved up the premiere date for Presumed Innocent, its upcoming limited series starring and executive produced by Jake Gyllenhaal. The series will premiere Wednesday, June 12, just a few days after its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 9. It originally was scheduled to debut on June 14. The Presumed Innocent series will explore obsession, sex, politics and the power and limits of love as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together. Ruth Negga, Bill Camp and Elizabeth Marvel also star.

Steve Carell has joined the cast of the Netflix comedy The Four Seasons. He’ll star with Tina Fey in the upcoming series. The Four Seasons is based on the 1981 film written, directed by and starring Alan Alda. Fey co-created and wrote the Netflix series with her 30 Rock collaborators Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher. Alda and original producer Marissa Bregman produce the show. The original Four Seasons follows three New York couples as they vacation together during each of the four seasons.

Taylor Swift dropped a new album on Friday, but some people don’t like the lyrics to her new song, "I Hate It Here." In the track off of "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology," a deluxe version of her new album, Swift sings about discontent and the way our recollections are distorted by nostalgia. In it, she says she wants to return to an era that ended more than a century before her career began. "My friends used to play a game where we would pick a decade we wished we could live in instead of this / I'd say the 1830s but without all the racists and getting married off for the highest bid," Swift sings in the song. The Civil War began in 1861, more than 30 years after the decade Swift references in the song. Slavery was still active in the U.S. during this time. "Everyone would look down 'cause it wasn't fun now seems like it was never even fun back then / Nostalgia is a mind's trick if I'd been there, I'd hate it," she sings. "It was freezing in the palace." Fans on X reacted to “I Hate It Here.” “y’all .. there are so many wrong things about this," one user wrote, while posting a screenshot of the song's lyrics from Genius. "'I'd say the 1830s but without all the racists' now Taylor …" another wrote.

Coming up on the 26th anniversary of Seinfeld’s series finale, Jerry Seinfeld said he’s still a little bit bothered how the show ended things. “The Finale,” which aired May 14, 1998, and drew 76 million viewers, has since landed on many a “Worst Series Finales Ever” ranking. When Seinfeld was asked by GQ if the show’s finale has “bothered him all these years,” he answered, “A little bit, yeah,” though he was quick to note, “I don’t believe in regret. I think it’s arrogant to think you could have done something different. You couldn’t. That’s why you did what you did.”

Several crew members were injured during rehearsal for a scene in Eddie Murphy's upcoming movie “The Pickup." "On April 20, an accident occurred on the set of ‘The Pickup’ during a rehearsed 2nd unit action sequence," a spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios shared in a statement. "Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several members of the crew were injured as a result." Circumstances surrounding the accident are as yet unknown. Additionally, it's unclear who or how many people were injured and the extent of their injuries. "We are still in the process of gathering facts on what happened and why, but first and foremost our thoughts are with those who are recovering," the statement continued. Besides Murphy, the movie also stars Keke Palmer, Eva Longoria, Pete Davidson, Andrew Dice Clay and Marshawn Lynch. No word on plot details.

She took to Instagram Sunday night to react to the news that she will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October. "Beyond grateful!!!!!! This is incredible!!!" she wrote. She continued, "This is incredible!!! God always has the final say!!!! Thank you to my fans all over the world!!!! Tears of Joy!!!!" The news was announced on Sunday's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night episode of American Idol.

Alec Baldwin was caught on camera punching the phone of an anti-Israel protester who accosted him inside a New York City coffee shop. The protesters video was posted on X by an anti-fascist interview show called Crackhead Barney & Friends. Baldwin asked the employee to call the police and told the protester he would not say free Palestine. “F**k Israel, f**k Zionism, please say it,” the protester said. Baldwin said “can you do me one quick favor” before smacking the protesters phone from her hand. “Alec can you please say free Palestine one time,” the protester repeatedly shouted at Baldwin. “Free Palestine, Alec, just one time and I'll leave you alone. I'll leave you alone, I swear, just say free Palestine one time.” A coffee shop employee tried to get the protester to stop badgering Baldwin. “Why did you kill that lady? You killed that lady and got no jail time,” the protester said referencing the fatal Rust set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Mila Kunis is shutting down the possibility of returning to That ’90s Show Season 2, including Ashton Kutcher. The actress told “ET” that she and Kutcher won’t be reprising their That ’70s Show characters when the sequel series returns to Netflix. “No,” Kunis told ET when asked if she and her hubby Kutcher would return to the sitcom. “I mean, we did our thing, and they introduced our son in the show.” That ’70s Show ran for eight seasons on Fox. Netflix revived the show with the sequel series That ’90s Show, which centered on Leia Forman, played by Callie Haverda, Donna (Laura Preppon) and Eric’s daughter.

After playing a pivotal role in the first music video that Taylor Swift released in support of The Tortured Poets Department, Post Malone opened up about what working with Swift was like. Swift’s new album dropped on Friday, just hours before she released the music video for her new song “Fortnight.” The song arrived as the first track on the surprise double album and included a featured credit for Post Malone. In addition to his contributions to the song, Post also appeared alongside Swift in the “Fortnight” music video, which Swift directed. On Saturday, Post shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself sitting on a couch next to Swift. The rapper’s hands rested on an object in front of him as he looked directly into the camera. Hulu is set to get two Family Guy holiday specials later this year. As the animated show celebrates its 25th anniversary since its premiere, it was confirmed at PaleyFestLA that the series would air two holiday specials later this year. The show celebrated its 25th anniversary on Jan. 31, and the cast and EPs participated in a panel at PaleyFest LA to celebrate the milestone on Friday.

Michael Douglas defended President Joe Biden against criticisms from his opponents regarding his age during a CNN interview. In an interview with CNN anchor Fareed Zakaria, Douglas said Biden’s age shouldn’t be an issue because he is “sharp as a tack.” The actor also said Biden’s cabinet members would work with the president again unlike Donald Trump’s former cabinet members. The actor said: “Well, I think that I walk a little similar to him. And the people that I’ve talked to and everybody that I have, say he’s sharp as a tack. He’s fine. We all have an issue with memories as we get older, we forget names. He’s overcome a stutter in his life. But let’s just say that his entire cabinet, including his vice president, everybody in his cabinet would be more than happy to work with him again in the next term. I cannot say that about the other candidate running because nobody in his cabinet from 2016 wants to be involved with him.”

Kelly Clarkson walked off stage after making a naughty comment during an interview with Henry Golding. Kelly was chatting with Henry when the funny moment happened. Our first look at "Transformers One" is here. The film, the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie, debuted in space Thursday yesterday morning before dropping online. "Before he was Optimus Prime, he was Orion Pax. Before he was Megatron, he was D-16," onscreen text reads. "Every transformer has an origin." "Transformers One" is billed as "the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever," according to a synopsis. The movie features a stacked voice cast led by Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax and "Eternals" actor Brian Tyree Henry as D-16. Also featured are Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm. "Transformers One" hits theaters Sept. 20.

Prince Harry has renounced his British residency and claimed America as his home in new paperwork. Yesterday, Harry spoke via a video link at Travalyst’s annual general meeting, Travalyst is a sustainable travel organization that Prince Harry founded in 2019. It’s a nonprofit based in London, and as part of the organization’s procedures at the end of the year, company returns were filed with Harry’s “new details.” On it, he declared that his “new country/state” was now the “United States.”

Stephen Colbert will head to Chicago this summer and host The Late Show from the Windy City during the week of the DNC (Democratic National Convention). Colbert announced he’s hosting a full week of episodes from the Auditorium Theatre from August 19 through August 22. “The Late Show is doing shows from Chicago for the entire Democratic Convention for one week,” Colbert said before joking about the theatre’s name saying, “The Late Show will be broadcasting from the 130-year-old Auditorium Theater. It is absolutely gorgeous and so creatively named. The Auditorium Theater is right next to the cafeteria restaurant, and of course, the historic Rooms Hotel.”

Last week, “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay helped a child find their parent after they assumed the actress was an on-duty cop. According to witnesses at the Anne Loftus Playground in Fort Tryon Park, the little girl got separated from her mother and ran up to Hargitay when she saw the police badge on her belt. Witnesses said the girl was oblivious to the film crew and “SVU” vet Ice-T. After enlisting the help of the actress, production on the final episodes of the show’s 25th season was halted for about 20 minutes as she helped the child locate her mom. Shortly after, mother and daughter were reunited and Hargitay was seen comforting the two.

Works from Perry Como to The Cars were added to the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry, which designates recordings worthy of preservation “based on their cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation’s recorded sound heritage.” Members of the public can submit nominations for the registry on the Library’s website. Almost 2,900 were submitted this year. The latest entrants to the registry bring its total number of titles to 650.

Netflix just dropped a trailer for “A Man in Full,” the drama series starring Jeff Daniels. A Man in Full is based on the novel of the same name by late author Tom Wolfe. Daniels stars as Charlie Croker, an Atlanta real estate mogul facing sudden bankruptcy. The character's "political and business interests collide as he defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace," an official description reads. Diane Lane, Tom Pelphrey, Aml Ameen, Chanté Adams, Jon Michael Hill, Sarah Jones, William Jackson Harper, Lucy Liu and Bill Camp also star. The series premieres May 2 on Netflix.

Steve Buscemi has signed on to star in season 2 of Netflix’s “Wednesday.” Season 1 followed Wednesday’s efforts to “master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body.” Season 2 plot details remain unknown, but co-showrunner Miles Millar teased plans to incorporate more of Wednesday’s family dynamic into the show.

Courtney Love sat down for an interview with UK publication The Standard recently, where she opened up about which female artists she likes (Patti Smith, Nina Simone, PJ Harvey and Debbie Harry) and which ones she doesn’t, leading with Taylor Swift. “Taylor is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist,” Love said. USA Network is encouraging a group of contestants to stay anonymous with its latest unscripted competition series. The cable network has ordered The Anonymous, the All3Media-backed production company behind series such as Peacock’s The Traitors and Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge. The series is a game of social strategy where people are free to say what they really feel behind the safety of a mask. What would you say and do if nobody was watching you? It is played in two worlds: the real world, where players interact face to face, but also a digital world, where the players communicate behind a mask of anonymity, known as Anonymous Mode. Here in individual private hideouts, each player is free to say whatever they want to advance their game. The question is: Can they stay anonymous or will the other players guess their identity causing them to lose their power in the game? The series is set to film in Europe.

Keanu Reeves will voice the role of Shadow in Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Reeves joins an ensemble led by Ben Schwartz, who plays Sonic. In all three films, James Mardsen plays Sonic’s human ally, Sheriff Tom Wachowski, with Jim Carrey as the mad scientist Dr. Robotnik. While the plot of the third film is under wraps, the first Sonic watches as the anthrophomorphic hedgehog of the same name teams up with small-town sheriff Tom to evade capture by the government and Dr. Robotnik, who seeks to exploit Sonic’s powers. In the sequel, Sonic teams up with his friend Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) to stop Knuckes (Idris Elba) and Robotnik from obtaining the Chaos Emeralds to further their villainous schemes.

A movie about Chris Farley’s life is being put together with Josh Gad as director and Paul Walter Hauser in the lead role. The family of the comedian and “SNL” star, who died of a drug overdose back in 1997, is cooperating with the project. Aang: The Last Airbender, the Avatar film currently in the works at Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios, has found its leads. Dave Bautista and singer/songwriter Eric Nam will headline the animated movie scheduled for theatrical release on Oct. 10, 2025. Bautista will voice a villainous character while Nam will portray Aang.

Paramount Pictures is gearing up for the release of IF. The studio shared a trailer for the movie yesterday featuring Ryan Reynolds. IF is a live-action and animated fantasy film written, directed and produced by John Krasinski. Reynolds stars as Cal, a man who teams up with his young neighbor Bea (Cailey Fleming) to help forgotten imaginary friends find new kids. The cast also features Krasinski and Fiona Shaw, along with the voices of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr. and Steve Carell. The movie hits theaters May 17th.

Caitlyn Jenner celebrated OJ Simpson's death yesterday, tweeting “Good Riddance in response to the former football star's passing, thirty years after his trial tore the Kardashian family apart. Jenner was married to Kris Jenner when her best friend Nicole Brown, OJ's ex-wife, was murdered with Ron Goldman in Los Angeles in June 1994. Nicole and OJ had been divorced for two years but still vacationed with their kids and the Kardashian-Jenners. Prosecutors said at trial that OJ killed Nicole and Goldman in a jealous rage, painting him as an obsessive ex who felt that if he couldn't have her, no one could. Kris's ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, went on to represent OJ at his murder trial - a decision that haunted the family for decades. OJ was acquitted of the killing, despite the mountain of evidence against him and absolute belief among Nicole's friends that he was responsible for their deaths. In Caitlyn's autobiography, The Secrets Of My Life, she wrote this: “He was the most narcissistic, egocentric, neediest a***ole in the world of sports I had ever seen, and I had seen a lot of them.”

Yesterday, Aerosmith announced rescheduled dates for their Peace Out farewell tour, which was postponed in September. The 40-date North American tour will feature three news shows in addition to the rescheduled dates. It’ll kick off in Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Arena on Sept. 20 and will make stops across the U.S. and Canada. The Peace Out tour, which will celebrate 50 years of the band's hits, will also feature special guests The Black Crowes and a one-night-only performance from Teddy Swims at the tour kick-off show in Pittsburgh. The rescheduled and newly added dates will go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time on ticketmaster.com. In September, the band announced that Steven Tyler was recovering from a fractured larynx.

Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap and her partners Tom Ackerley and Josie McNamara are producing a live-action feature film based on the board game Monopoly. Hasbro Entertainment, the backers of Monopoly, will also produce. It’s unclear how Robbie and company plan to spin a narrative story from the two-dimensional world of Monopoly.

Jelly Roll bailed on the chance to meet Diddy in October because he got some bad vibes from him. Jelly revealed this on the "Cancelled with Tana Mongeau" podcast. He said he had to trust his gut that the vibes were off, even if it meant passing up the opportunity to hang out with a big-time rapper like Diddy.

Michael Keaton showed up at the Warner Bros’ CinemaCon presentation for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Keaton, who already has seen the movie twice, said: “Truthfully, I don’t think it’s a secret anymore, but [Tim Burton] and I over the years kicked the notion around. Three or five years passed, we’d say, ‘What do you think?’ Finally we got it right. But also the script — it’s very difficult thing to write. Frankly, I followed his lead. I’ll tell you this, though, it’s really f*cking good. In fact, it’s great.” The movie will be out September 6.

Tulsa King is embroiled in a controversy surrounding the treatment of its background actors. An Atlanta-based casting agency quit the Paramount+ show amid claims posted online that background actors were verbally abused on the set by star Sylvester Stallone. The show is produced by 101 Studios, which is actively looking into the claims. At this point, the claims haven’t been verified, and the show’s director, Craig Zisk, is denying it ever happened. Earlier this week, Catrett Locke Casting confirmed on its Facebook page that it was parting ways with Tulsa King, which recently started production on season two.

The upcoming Bruce Springsteen film Deliver Me From Nowhere officially has its lead: Jeremy Allen White. The biopic follows the making of Springsteen’s 1982 iconic solo album Nebraska. White, star of Hulu’s “The Bear,” will play the young, moody Springsteen. He’ll wrap up filming for season four of The Bear in June before coming to New Jersey to shoot Deliver Me From Nowhere this fall.

The special prosecutors in Alec Baldwin's New Mexico shooting case, in which he faces one charge of involuntary manslaughter, say Baldwin was negligent on set and changed his story to cast blame on others after "Rust" cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died when the gun Baldwin was holding accidentally went off. Three weeks after Baldwin's lawyers urged the judge to dismiss the grand jury's indictment filed Jan. 19, on Friday state prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis filed the state's response to the defense's motion and slammed Baldwin's team for sharing "predictably false (and) misleading" facts and engaging in "countless lies and manipulation." In their filing, prosecutors paint Baldwin as a demanding actor and producer of the project who flaunted safety precautions, did not heed directions from his director and changed his story about what happened during the shooting.

Robert Downey Jr.’s departure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame seemed to have been set in stone when Marvel president Kevin Feige dismissed hope for an Iron Man return a few months ago. In a new Esquire cover story, Downey seems to be leaving his options open just in case. Asked if he’d be willing to play Iron Man again, he said: “Happily. It’s too integral a part of my DNA. That role chose me. And look, I always say, Never, ever bet against Kevin Feige. It is a losing bet. He’s the house. He will always win.”

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” series finale aired on HBO last night. The finale wrapped up a season-long arc that started when Larry was arrested in Atlanta for giving water to Auntie Rae (Ellia English) while she was in line to vote, violating local law. Through the season, he became something of a pop culture hero for doing the right thing, even though had no idea he was breaking any law, let alone making any sort of statement. Larry’s entourage headed to Atlanta for the trial, including Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) and Ted Danson (playing himself), Jeff (Jeff Garlin) and Susie (Susie Essman), and Leon (J. B. Smoove) and Richard Lewis (playing himself). The trial echoed the finale of “Seinfeld,” which David co-created, where the main characters faced multiple character witnesses in court and eventually are sentenced to prison time. After court outbursts from Auntie Rae and Susie put Larry on the ropes, Jerry Seinfeld (playing himself) shows up in Atlanta for support. In the end, Seinfeld springs Larry out of jail after he discovers a juror broke his sequester, causing a mistrial and the sentence being thrown out. The two then talk about the “Seinfeld” finale: “You don’t want to end up like this. No one wants to see it. Trust me,” Jerry says, to which Larry replies, “Oh my god, this is how we should have ended the finale!” The final scene featured Larry and all of his friends bickering when Susie opens the window shade on the flight back to Los Angeles.

Dwayne Johnson now says his 2020 endorsement of Joe Biden caused division and that he won't backing anyone publicly in this year's presidential election. He added that he isn't happy with the state of America right now and left open the chance of running for office himself in the future. “The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time,” he told Fox and Friends weekend host Will Cain. “I realize now going into this election, I will not do that, my goal is to bring this country together,” he added. “I will keep my politics to myself. It is between me and the ballot box. Like a lot of us out there, not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people and whoever they vote for that is my president and who I will support 100 percent.”

Yesterday, a trailer for “Poolman” was released. The movie hits theaters May 10. Poolman marks Chris Pine's directorial debut. He also stars as the title poolman. Darren Barrenman (Pine) cleans a motel pool and attends city council meetings. When he gets a chance to take down the councilman who keeps rejecting his ideas. Darren gets in over his head. The trailer also showcases the ensemble cast including Annette Bening, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Danny DeVito and DeWanda Wise.

Julia Garner has joined the cast of Marvel's Fantastic Four reboot. She’ll play a Shalla-Bal version of Silver Surfer in the upcoming film. Garner joins previously announced cast members Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm, aka the Thing). Production begins this summer, with the film scheduled for release July 25, 2025. Garner is best known for playing Ruth Langmore on the Netflix series Ozark.

Yesterday on “Today,” Gillian Anderson indicated that she would be open to doing “a little somethin’-somethin'” in Ryan Coogler‘s in-the-works X-Files reboot. It was leaked a little over a year ago that Coogler, the filmmaker behind the Black Panther and Creed movies, was aiming to “remount The X-Files with a diverse cast.” Pressed by Today‘s Savannah Guthrie if Coogler’s reboot could entice her to flash Scully’s badge again, Anderson said, “I’m not saying no, because I think he’s really cool. And I think if he did it, it probably would be done incredibly well. Maybe I’ll pop in for a little somethin’-somethin.'”

A new "Matrix" movie is in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures, with Drew Goddard ("The Cabin in the Woods") set to write and direct, the studio revealed yesterday. This will be the first film in the sci-fi franchise not directed by Lana or Lilly Wachowski, the filmmaking duo behind the original "Matrix" trilogy. However, Lana will serve as executive producer. No word on plot details, and it isn't clear if Keanu Reeves or any other cast members will return.

Will Trent will be back for another go-round. ABC has renewed the drama series, starring Ramón Rodríguez, for a third season. Season-to-date, Will Trent is a top performer across both linear and streaming, and is gaining ratings momentum among adults across all platforms.

Michael Douglas discovered a fellow actor is also a distant relative: Scarlett Johansson. On the PBS show Finding Your Roots, host Henry Louis Gates Jr. revealed that Scarlett is a “DNA cousin” of Douglas. “Are you kidding?” asked Douglas on the show. “Oh, that's amazing. All right. This is cool. This is so cool.” According to Gates and his "book of life" containing research from professional genealogists, Douglas and Johansson “share identical branches of DNA on four different chromosomes.” The two actors’ branches of shared DNA “appear on Scarlett's maternal lines, which stretch back to Jewish communities in Eastern Europe,” Gates explained to Douglas.

Joel McHale has confirmed if Chevy Chase will be in the “Community” movie. While talking to The NY Post about his Fox sitcom, “Animal Control,” McHale said about Chase potentially returning for the “Community” movie, “I don’t think he’s allowed to. I don’t think it would happen. I’m guessing if you asked him, he wouldn’t be interested.” He added: “Obviously his unceremonious departure in Season 4 pretty much did that in.” During a 2023 interview, Chase said that he didn’t think “Community” was “funny enough.” “I felt a little bit constrained a bit. Everyone had their bits and stuff. I thought they were all good, but it just wasn’t hard-hitting enough for me,” Chase said.

On the April Fools’ Day episode of “Wheel of Fortune,” Jared Leto pranked contestants when he filled in for host Pat Sajak for the first spin. “Ladies and gentlemen, here are the stars of our show: Jared Leto and Vanna White,” the announcer said as the two walked out to applause from the live studio audience. Leto wore an oversized black suit with a paisley tie as he escorted Vanna, who matched him in a chic black jumpsuit. They thanked the audience before Leto told White to have a great show and took his place at Sajak's podium. The bit didn't last long as Sajak returned to his podium after the first spin.

The dementia Jay Leno’s beloved wife Mavis suffers from is so advanced that she sometimes doesn’t recognize him and doesn’t remember what her birthdate is, new court documents reveal. Leno petitioned Los Angeles Superior Court in January to be appointed Mavis’ conservator because her condition makes her unable to handle her own affairs. And in a filing this week supporting Leno’s petition, her court-appointed attorney, Ronald Ostrin, shed new light on Mavis’s diminishing mental capacity. “According to (Mavis’) neurologist, Dr. Hart Cohen, she has advanced dementia, sometimes does not know her husband Jay, nor her date of birth,’ says Ostrin. “She has lots of disorientation, will ruminate about her parents who have both passed and her mother who died about 20 years ago.”

Andy Cohen has apologized to Kate Middleton for fueling conspiracy theories about her weeks-long absence after abdominal surgery before she announced she had been diagnosed with cancer. Cohen faced backlash last month, with many calling on him to apologize, after he questioned Princess Kate’s whereabouts and remarked on a video released by TMZ claiming to show the princess out with husband William. “That ain’t Kate….,” Cohen wrote shortly after the video was posted. He also fueled Prince William affair rumors. Cohen apologized yesterday on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, his first show since Middleton made the health announcement. He said: “I just want to say, I am heartbroken by the news about Princess Kate.” He added: “I think someone on Sky News called me a ‘numpty’ during that whole conversation and they were right.” He then admitted he wished he kept his “mouth shut” before noting, “We are all praying for Princess Kate and King Charles.”

The reboot of the 1980s movie “Road House” has clocked 50 million-plus viewers on Prime Video over its first two weekends. Amazon reports that it’s a record — beating any other original movie they’ve ever produced for Prime Video.

Conor McGregor is the latest athlete to appear on the big screen after killing it in Road House. The former two-weight champion made his Hollywood debut in Amazon Prime Video's reimagining of the classic 1980s action movie starring Patrick Swayze. Following the movie’s release, McGregor claimed he broke Dwayne Johnson's $5.5 million paycheck record to become the highest-paid first-time actor ever.

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott reportedly are divorcing after 17 years. E! News reported the news on Friday, citing records from Los Angeles Superior Court, which blamed "irreconcilable differences" for the split. June 17, 2023 is listed as the date of their separation. Spelling has requested sole physical custody and joint legal custody of their children: Liam Aaron, 17, Stella Doreen, 15, Hattie Margaret, 12, Finn Davey, 11 and Beau Dean, 7.
