LEONARDTOWN, MD – October 26, 2026 – St. Mary’s County Government announces that parking lot improvements at the Leonardtown Library and Garvey Senior Activity Center are scheduled to begin Friday afternoon, Oct. 30, 2026. Work is expected to continue through the weekend and may extend into early the following week, weather permitting. Improvements include pavement maintenance and updated parking lot markings to create a revised parking layout, including changes to designated accessible parking spaces. Both facilities will remain open and accessible during construction. However, existing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking spaces will be temporarily relocated while work is underway. Clearly marked temporary accessible parking spaces will be available until construction is complete. Visitors are encouraged to use caution in parking areas, follow posted signs and obey directions from construction crews. The schedule is subject to change based on weather and construction progress.
