Students to be Charged in Connection with Multiple Assaults at North Point High School
On August 24 at approximately 8:10 a.m., school administrators and school resource officers (SROs) at North Point High School responded to an altercation inside the building. A preliminary investigation showed a student, age 16, punched another student from behind causing the student to fall. Other students, ages 16 and 17, engaged in the altercation before school resource officers and school administrators could separate them. In addition, a second altercation occurred between multiple students; SROs were able to separate those students. A school nurse treated one of the students involved for minor injuries. Four students will be charged on a juvenile offense report with assault and disruption of school activities.
