LEONARDTOWN, MD (July 31, 2026) –The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is available daily, by appointment, at SMCHD’s Health Clinic in Leonardtown and the School-Based Health Centers (SBHC). Community members can call the following numbers to schedule an appointment:
- SMCHD Health Clinic in Leonardtown – 301-475-4419
- SBHC at Margaret Brent – 240-434-6060
- SBHC at Spring Ridge – 240-434-6059
SMCHD will also host MMR vaccine clinics for community members in St. Mary’s County. SMCHD recommends the MMR vaccine for most children and adults who have not yet received it or have no evidence of immunity. The clinics will be open to children and adults; appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.
MMR vaccine clinics will be held at the SMCHD Health Clinic located at 21580 Peabody St. in Leonardtown on:
- Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
- Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Health insurance is not required; however, it will be collected from those who have it. Community members can call 301-475-4419 to schedule an appointment.
On July 22, 2026, the Maryland Department of Health confirmed that two cases of measles had been identified among residents of Southern Maryland. A call center has been opened for St. Mary’s County residents needing more information about measles. Community members can call 240-735-8288, Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m with questions.
