Cannabis And Vape Devices Containing THC Recovered At Middle And High Schools
Cannabis and THC vaping devices recovered at middle and high schools: On March 4, a student at Westlake High School and a student at La Plata High School were found to be in possession of vaping devices containing THC. On March 3, a student at Davis Middle School, age 13, was found to be in possession of loose cannabis. Further investigation revealed the student got the cannabis from a 12-year-old student. In accordance with MD law, all of the students were charged on a juvenile civil citation with possession of cannabis. They also face school consequences in accordance with the Charles County Public Schools student code of conduct. Parents are urged to talk with their children about the dangers of consuming products that could contain harmful substances and the harmful effects they could have.
