Suspect Arrested in Theft of Heating and Air Conditioning Units Impacting Numerous Businesses: On December 31, 2025, Charles County Sheriff’s detectives, along with detectives from the Prince George’s County Police Department, located Thomas Clay Guinyard, age 30, of Hyattsville, who had several active arrest warrants in connection with numerous thefts of heat pumps and air conditioning units, worth over $40,000 and impacting more than 10 businesses across the region. As officers approached Guinyard, he fled on foot but was apprehended without further incident. Detectives also recovered a car Guinyard was driving which had been reported stolen. Guinyard was charged with theft and destruction of property. He is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond.
