Patrol Officers Apprehend Suspect In Violent Domestic Assault And False Imprisonment

Patrol officers apprehend suspect in violent domestic assault: On May 18, a woman flagged down a patrol officer and reported the father of her child had assaulted her. The assault first occurred on May 17 inside a car as they were traveling through Prince George’s County. During that time, the suspect punched the woman and strangled her. He continued the assault as they arrived at the victim’s residence in Waldorf, and throughout the night, he repeatedly choked her. When she tried to leave her house, the suspect pinned her to the ground and lay on top of her for an extended period. He also took her cell phone. At some point during the morning hours of May 18, the victim was able to escape and run from her house and locate a nearby police officer. The victim had extensive visible injuries on her face and neck. Officers responded to the victim’s home and attempted to contact the suspect by telephone and loudspeaker, but he did not answer. Officers then entered the house through an open door and located the suspect in the home’s attic, hiding under storage items. He was arrested without incident. Yohance Omari Eubanks, age 41, of Clinton, was charged with first-degree assault, false imprisonment, and other related charges. He is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center with no bond.
