Patrol Officers Apprehend Two Juveniles In Attempted Vehicle Theft Case
Patrol officers apprehend two juveniles, ages 14, in an attempted theft case: On May 4 at 1:56 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 6000 block of New Forest Court in Waldorf for the report of three suspects wearing ski masks who damaged the locking mechanism on the victim's vehicle to make entry. The suspects fled on foot into a neighborhood as officers arrived. An off-duty officer who was nearby observed the suspects, and a perimeter was established. Two of the three suspects were apprehended without further incident. Both suspects were in possession of screwdrivers and USB cords, which are tools often used to steal cars. In accordance with Maryland law, the suspects were charged as juveniles with destruction of property and attempted theft. Both juveniles were released to their parents.
