Patrol Officers Apprehend Man Armed With Gun And Making Threats

Patrol officers apprehend suspect armed with a handgun and making threats: On March 15 at 9:23 p.m., officers responded to a liquor store in the 4600 block of Indian Head Highway for the report of an armed individual flashing a handgun at patrons. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect at the front door, and he immediately became confrontational. The suspect stated he had a gun and was going to pull it out. Officers were able to immediately secure the suspect’s arms and after a struggle, take him into custody. A loaded handgun was recovered. The suspect was placed inside a patrol vehicle where he continued to be disorderly by kicking the cage and headbutting the rear passenger window. Cato Alexander Johnson, III, age 21, of Washington, D.C., was charged with first-degree assault, resisting arrest, concealed handgun violation, and other related charges. On March 17, a judge ordered Johnson to be held without bond at the Charles County Detention Center. Officers Giroux, Moates, and Cpl. Micklus made the apprehension.
