Student in possession of cannabis: On July 9, school administrators were made aware of the odor of cannabis inside a room at La Plata High School. Upon further investigation, a bag containing pre-rolled cannabis joints, a bag of cannabis, and a bag of tobacco were recovered from a student’s backpack. The student, who is enrolled in the summer school program, was issued a civil citation for possession of cannabis. The student also faces school consequences.
