Connection Issues Impacting Non-Emergency Phone Lines to Emergency Communications Center, Sheriff

LEONARDTOWN, MD – St. Mary’s County Government’s (SMCG) Department of Emergency Services is reporting connection issues to the non-emergency phone lines for the Emergency Communications Center, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, and Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

The 911 emergency number is not affected by these issues and remains fully operational. In the event of an emergency, you should dial 911 immediately.

Connection issues may impact the ability to reach the non-emergency phone lines to the Emergency Communications Center (301-475-8016), the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office (301-475-8008), and the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack (301-475-8955 and #77).

If you need to report a non-emergency situation, please follow the below instructions for assistance:

  • Emergency Communications Center: 301-475-4200 and press 9
  • Sheriff’s Office: 301-475-4200 and press 6
  • Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack: 301-536-0256
