On May 20, three students at JP Ryon Elementary School assaulted another student. The student who was assaulted was taken to a medical facility by their parents for treatment of injuries sustained during the assault. The assault was reported to school administrators after school hours and the school resource officer was notified today. In accordance with MD law, the three students involved in the assault cannot be charged criminally due to their ages; however, the students face consequences from the CCPS.
