Spencer Pratt Blasts Ryan Reynolds Over His Take On The 'Traumatic' 1980s

Spencer Pratt is taking aim at Ryan Reynolds after the actor described the 1980s as a “brutal” and “tumultuous” decade that people now remember through a nostalgic filter. Reynolds, who was born in 1976, said people tend to look back on the era and focus on things like Top Gun and the cocaine-fueled pop culture of the time while forgetting the political tensions and other serious problems. He argued that people living through today’s era may eventually look back on it just as fondly, saying, “We’re living in the frickin’ salad days. We just don’t know it.” That didn't sit well with Pratt. The reality star, who unsuccessfully ran for Los Angeles mayor earlier this year, unloaded on Reynolds on X, calling him a “tool” and accusing Hollywood types of making ordinary Americans dislike them. Pratt wrote that while he is trying to bring film jobs back to Los Angeles, celebrities are making things worse with comments like Reynolds’. He finished with a jab at Reynolds’ advertising career: “Hollywood is seriously its own worst enemy. Just stick to the Cricket wireless ads, dude.” Reynolds has appeared in wireless commercials and previously held a stake in Mint Mobile.
