Dr. Phil McGraw is blasting the government over what he says is an 80-year cover-up of UFO information. In a new video, he claimed the government has been deceiving Americans about unexplained sightings and is still keeping the public out of the process. McGraw pointed to more than 1,800 UFO reports that he says have never been investigated by the Pentagon. He says the problem is that ordinary Americans have no official way to report a UFO sighting directly to the government. Right now, reporting is limited to current or former federal employees, military personnel, contractors and pilots. McGraw says that leaves roughly 93% of Americans without a government reporting channel. He acknowledged that many sightings could have ordinary explanations—but argues that investigators should at least look into them. His question: What about the one percent that can't be explained? The Pentagon's UFO office, known as AARO, says it plans to eventually expand reporting to the general public, but it currently doesn't accept reports from ordinary citizens. McGraw says that isn't good enough, especially as the government continues releasing UFO-related documents, photos and videos that have largely failed to produce definitive evidence of extraterrestrial life. President Trump ordered the Department of War in February to oversee the declassification and release of UFO-related records. So far, five batches of files have been released. McGraw isn't convinced the disclosures tell the whole story. He says 80 years of being told “trust us” have gotten Americans nowhere—and when it comes to UFOs, he says, “I don’t trust them about this at all.”
