A federal judge in California has thrown out the remaining claims against Lizzo’s touring company stemming from a 2023 lawsuit filed by former wardrobe employee Asha Williams. Williams accused Lizzo’s tour operation of sexual and racial harassment, along with being subjected to racist and fatphobic comments and grueling work hours during Lizzo’s 2023 Special Tour. The lawsuit originally named Lizzo personally, but those claims were dismissed in 2024. Now, the remaining case against her touring company and other defendants has been tossed out on summary judgment. Lizzo’s attorney called the ruling a “total victory” and said the legal team is exploring options to enforce the defendants’ rights following the win. Lizzo denied the allegations when the lawsuit was filed, calling them false and saying the claims were too outrageous to ignore.
