Gal Gadot says she wasn’t surprised when James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC Studios regime moved on without her as Wonder Woman. Gadot first played Diana Prince in 2016’s Batman v Superman, then starred in Wonder Woman and returned for Justice League and Wonder Woman 1984. A third Wonder Woman was being developed with director Patty Jenkins, but that project was scrapped after Gunn and Safran took over DC. In a new interview, Gadot said she watched how other members of the old DC Universe were treated—including Henry Cavill and Jenkins—and wasn’t shocked by what happened to her. She said she’s grateful she got the chance to wear the Wonder Woman costume and emphasized that the character was never really hers to own. Gadot also made it pretty clear that even if DC came calling, she probably wouldn’t return for a third movie. Gadot, who has four children, said her life has changed and committing to another lengthy Wonder Woman production would mean being away from her family and dealing with different schools and schedules.
