Apple TV Hikes Price, Will Now Cost $14.99 A Month Is U.S.
Apple announced that its monthly subscription price is increasing from $12.99 to $14.99, while the annual plan is jumping from $99 to $119. The new rates take effect for new and existing subscribers as of August 28, although current subscribers will get about a month's notice before they see the higher charge. The price of the Apple One Individual plan, which bundles several Apple services together, is also going up—from $19.95 to $21.95 a month. This is the second straight year Apple has raised its streaming prices. Last August, the monthly cost jumped from $9.99 to $12.99—a hefty 30 percent increase—while the annual rate stayed the same. This time around, both monthly and yearly subscribers are getting hit.
