Shonda Rhimes and her Shondaland empire aren’t leaving Netflix anytime soon. The producer has renewed her overall deal with the streaming giant for another five years, extending a partnership that began in 2017. The biggest jewel in the relationship is “Bridgerton,” one of Netflix’s biggest shows ever. Seasons 1 and 3 are among the streamer’s all-time most-watched series, and the show’s fourth season reportedly topped 100 million views. Season 5 is already on the way. The expanded deal keeps Netflix as the home for Shondaland’s TV and film projects, while also covering games, merchandise and live events. It also continues support for Shondaland programs that help train underrepresented behind-the-scenes talent.
