Jerry Bruckheimer says Johnny Depp is in talks to return for Pirates of the Caribbean 6. Speaking at D23, Bruckheimer said they’re talking with Depp, working on the screenplay and hoping they can get the movie made. The new movie reportedly won’t be another straight-up Captain Jack Sparrow adventure. Instead, the story is expected to center on Margot Robbie’s character, with Depp’s Sparrow appearing more as a supporting character. The Pirates franchise has made about $4.5 billion worldwide across five movies. The most recent film, 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales, was the lowest-grossing installment, still bringing in nearly $796 million.
