Anthony Michael Hall says The Breakfast Club almost got a sequel—at least in John Hughes' imagination. Hall revealed that Hughes wanted to reunite the original five characters years later, showing them as adults in their 30s navigating careers and life after high school. Hall said Hughes first discussed the idea with him during a long phone call in 1988 with John Candy also on the line. While he doesn't know if Hughes ever wrote a script, Hall believes the filmmaker seriously considered bringing the iconic detention group back together. Hughes, who directed The Breakfast Club, died in 2009 before the project could ever become a reality.
