Catherine Zeta-Jones is stepping into action-hero territory in the upcoming thriller series Kill Jackie, and first-look photos have just been released. Zeta-Jones plays Jackie Price, a retired drug smuggler who believes she's left her dangerous past behind. But her quiet life is shattered when she learns that a team of elite assassins known as "The Seven Demons" has been hired to kill her. Rather than run, Jackie decides to hunt down the hitmen one by one before they can reach her. The eight-episode series is based on Nick Harkaway's novel The Price You Pay, although the TV adaptation changes the lead character from a man named Jack to Jackie, played by Zeta-Jones. The cast also includes Ron Perlman, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Julian Barratt and several other familiar faces. Kill Jackie will stream on Prime Video in several international markets, including the UK, while AMC+ will carry the series in the U.S. later this year.
