Suri Cruise Legally Severs Ties With Estranged Dad Tom
Suri Cruise has reportedly legally changed her name, dropping her father Tom Cruise's last name and now going by Suri Noelle, according to public voting records first reported by Page Six. The 20-year-old, who attends Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania, registered to vote in 2024 using the name Suri Noelle. Pennsylvania requires voters to register under their legal name, indicating the name change is official. While no name change filing was found in Pennsylvania, it may have been completed in New York before she left for college. Suri has been using the name Noelle—her mother Katie Holmes' middle name—publicly since at least her 2024 high school graduation. Sources previously said the change reflected her desire to honor her mother, establish her own identity, and avoid the attention that comes with the Cruise surname. Suri, who has reportedly been estranged from Tom Cruise for most of her life following his 2012 divorce from Holmes, is studying musical theater at Carnegie Mellon. She has already appeared in stage productions while in college and is set to perform in a modern adaptation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," which is scheduled to debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe next month.
