Snoop Dogg is headed to the big screen in his own biopic. Universal Pictures has announced that "Snoop" will hit theaters on August 6, 2027, taking over the release date previously reserved for an untitled studio project. The film will chronicle Snoop Dogg's rise from Long Beach rapper to global music superstar, entrepreneur and entertainment icon. Jonathan Daviss, best known for Outer Banks, has been cast as Snoop, while Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) will direct from a revised script by Joe Robert Cole. The movie marks the first project produced under Death Row Pictures' partnership with NBCUniversal and will feature music from Snoop Dogg's extensive catalog. Snoop is also serving as a producer alongside Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer.
