Brad Pitt's Daughter Zahara And Son Maddox Take Final Steps To Remove Dad's Last Name
Brad Pitt's daughter Zahara and son Maddox have each filed legal petitions in California to remove "Pitt" from their last names, according to court notices published ahead of scheduled hearings in September. If approved, they would become Zahara Marley Jolie and Maddox Chivan Jolie. Zahara has already been using the name "Zahara Jolie" publicly for several years, while siblings Shiloh and Vivienne have also stopped using Pitt's surname in recent years. It's unclear whether their brother Pax plans to make a similar legal change. The filings come amid the longtime family estrangement that followed Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's highly publicized split in 2016. While sources close to Jolie say the strained relationships are a result of Pitt's past actions, sources close to Pitt maintain that he hopes to rebuild relationships with his children over time.
