Apple TV has ordered a new true-crime thriller series called Guilty Creatures, with Julia Garner attached as both the star and an executive producer. The series is based on Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida by Mikita Brottman and tells the story of two young lovers in Florida whose affair leads to murder. Despite their strong religious beliefs, the couple hides the crime and lives with the secret for 18 years as the series explores the psychological and emotional consequences. Craig Gillespie, known for directing I, Tonya and Pam & Tommy, will direct the series and serve as an executive producer. Stuart Zicherman is the showrunner, while Sarah DeLappe adapted the book for television. No word yet on a premiere date.
