Whitney Houston's Furious Family Lashes Out At Oprah
The family of late singer Whitney Houston is disputing recent comments made by Oprah Winfrey about an incident in which Houston reportedly fell off a stage during an appearance connected to The Oprah Winfrey Show. Speaking at a recent event, Winfrey claimed Houston had relapsed at the time and said she persuaded audience members not to release photos because she feared the incident would damage the singer's career. However, Houston's estate strongly rejected that version of events. Pat Houston, who oversees the estate, said Whitney did fall, but during a dark soundcheck while unfamiliar with the stage setup—not because she was under the influence of drugs. The estate acknowledged Houston's well-documented struggles with addiction but said it is unfair to assume every incident in her life was connected to substance abuse. The statement emphasized that Houston was a dedicated professional and urged people to remember her accomplishments and tell the story accurately rather than repeat what the family calls misconceptions.
