Actor Ryan Reynolds revealed that when he was 18, he was seriously injured after being hit by an alleged drunk driver while walking home in Vancouver. Reynolds said he had chosen not to drive after drinking and was crossing the street when the vehicle hit him. He spent four weeks in the hospital, suffered multiple broken bones on the left side of his body, and later revealed he was in a coma for three days following the crash. Speaking to GQ, Reynolds said the impact was so severe that the driver's car was left inoperable. Although he eventually recovered, he joked that he's been a "rickety, broken mess" ever since, with lingering physical effects from the injuries. The story resurfaced during a lighthearted interview with his Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney, but Reynolds' account highlighted how a decision to avoid driving after drinking led to a life-altering accident caused by someone else.
