Ann Wilson of Heart On Her Health And Cancer Fight
Heart frontwoman Ann Wilson is opening up publicly for the first time about her cancer battle, calling the experience "pretty scary." The 75-year-old singer revealed during an interview on Good Morning America that she underwent surgery, followed by multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation after being diagnosed with cancer in 2024. Wilson first shared her diagnosis with fans in an Instagram post, explaining that doctors discovered cancer after an operation and recommended preventative chemotherapy. The diagnosis forced Heart to postpone its Royal Flush Tour while she focused on treatment and recovery. The singer said music became a major source of strength during her battle, describing it as a positive force that helped her get through the difficult months. Once her energy returned, she resumed touring and made her comeback on February 28, 2025. Wilson recalled deciding to face fans exactly as she was on that first night back, ditching a wig and performing from a wheelchair. She said the moment was about being authentic and embracing who she was as she returned to the stage. The rock icon recently released the documentary Ann Wilson: In My Voice, which explores her life, career, and personal journey.
