CNN Taps Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen To Host 'Independence Eve Live' For 4th Of July
After spending years hosting CNN's New Year's Eve coverage, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen are teaming up for a new patriotic celebration. The two will host Independence Eve Live with Anderson & Andy on July 3 from New York City's Times Square as part of CNN's nationwide The Fourth in America: Celebrating 250 coverage, marking the lead-up to America's 250th birthday. The special will feature celebrity guests, cultural figures, and stories from around the country, culminating with a special midnight ball drop designed for the anniversary celebration. CNN's festivities will continue throughout July 4 with live coverage from Washington, D.C., including the White House's Freedom 250 celebration on the National Mall. Cooper will later broadcast from Boston during the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. The network's coverage will also feature performances from a wide range of artists, including Lainey Wilson, Chance the Rapper, Charlie Puth, Josh Groban, Kane Brown, Goo Goo Dolls, Maren Morris, Rod Stewart, Lil Wayne, AJR, Kool & the Gang, and Chaka Khan.
