A24 has released the first teaser for Primetime, a new drama starring Robert Pattinson as former Dateline NBC correspondent Chris Hansen. The film is based around the controversial NBC series To Catch a Predator, where Hansen confronted adults accused of trying to meet minors for sex after online sting operations. The teaser leans into the tension and media frenzy surrounding the show’s peak in the mid-2000s. The movie is directed by documentary filmmaker Lance Oppenheim in his feature-film debut and also stars Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers. The official synopsis is short and simple: “In 2006, To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen sets out to make television history.” The film is expected to hit theaters in the fall.
