'Big Bang Theory' Alum Joins Spinoff 'Stuart Fails To Save The Universe'

Fans of The Big Bang Theory just got another sneak peek at the upcoming spinoff Stuart Fails to Save the Universe — and yes, Wil Wheaton is officially back in the chaos. A newly released HBO Max teaser briefly shows Wheaton reprising the exaggerated version of himself he played throughout The Big Bang Theory. In the clip, he appears inside Stuart’s comic book store and seems to blast an energy weapon at Stuart and the gang during what looks like full-blown multiverse madness. Wheaton originally appeared in 17 episodes of the main series between Seasons 3 and 12, usually serving as Sheldon Cooper’s favorite mortal enemy. The new show centers on comic book shop owner Stuart Bloom, played again by Kevin Sussman. The storyline kicks off after Stuart accidentally breaks a machine built by Sheldon and Leonard, triggering a multiverse disaster that threatens reality itself. Stuart teams up with Denise, Bert, and Barry Kripke to try fixing the universe while encountering alternate-reality versions of familiar characters from the original series. Judging by the title, things do not exactly go smoothly. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe premieres in July on HBO Max.
