Zach Galifianakis To Star In 'Very Young Frankenstein' On FX/Hulu
FX is bringing the Frankenstein comedy world back to life with a new series called Very Young Frankenstein, inspired by the classic Young Frankenstein from comedy legend Mel Brooks. The show is headed to both FX and Hulu. The series stars Zach Galifianakis, Dolly Wells, and Spencer House, although producers are keeping character details secret for now. FX says the show will be a completely fresh spin on the Frankenstein universe rather than a direct remake. The original 1974 movie became one of Brooks’ most iconic comedies, starring Gene Wilder as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein — pronounced “Fronk-en-steen” in one of the film’s most famous running jokes — and Peter Boyle as the monster. The movie brilliantly spoofed the old Universal horror films while becoming a comedy classic itself.
