Bryan Cranston Savagely Disses Shia LaBeouf
Bryan Cranston and Frankie Muniz sat down for an Esquire interview to promote their upcoming Malcolm in the Middle reboot, Life’s Still Unfair — and Cranston couldn’t resist firing off a joke at Shia LaBeouf’s expense. Muniz revealed he was originally cast in Disney’s Holes before choosing Agent Cody Banks instead. He admitted he sometimes wonders how his career might’ve changed if he’d taken the more dramatic role — especially since Holes helped launch LaBeouf’s film career. Cranston immediately jumped in with a deadpan punchline: “You could’ve ended up with Shia LaBeouf’s life.” Then, after a long comedic sigh, he looked into the camera and added: “Keep that one in. Shia, get some help.” The moment landed because LaBeouf has spent the past decade in and out of legal trouble, most recently being arrested in New Orleans after an alleged bar fight during Mardi Gras. He was ordered to rehab earlier this year.
