Donald Glover says the long?promised Community movie is still very much alive — and may finally be moving forward. In a new interview, Glover told Entertainment Tonight that the cast is actively “working on it right now,” adding that he genuinely believes “something is gonna happen soon.” He also revealed that the original cast has been buzzing about it in their group text, which he describes as “lovey dovey” and occasionally overwhelming when he wakes up to dozens of messages from across the world. The movie was officially announced in 2024 as part of California’s film and TV tax credit program. Peacock ordered the film back in 2022, confirming the return of Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong. Yvette Nicole Brown later confirmed she’s also back, with the script being updated to include her character Shirley.
