Tomb Raider Filming Pauses After Sophie Turner Injury
Production on the new Tomb Raider series from Amazon MGM Studios just hit pause after Sophie Turner—the new Lara Croft—picked up a “minor injury.” The studio says it’s precautionary, but filming is on ice for about two weeks while she recovers. No word on what happened or if it was on set. The show has been shooting in the UK since January and is still aiming for a 2027 release… assuming Lara gets back on her feet without any more plot twists. Turner had already hinted this role wasn’t exactly a spa day, calling the training “grueling” and admitting she’s dealing with ongoing back issues. So yeah—turns out raiding tombs is hard on the spine. The cast is stacked too, with Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Celia Imrie along for the ride.
