Ben Affleck is reportedly set for a massive payday after Netflix acquired his AI film technology startup InterPositive. The deal could be worth up to $600 million for Affleck and his investors if the company hits certain performance goals. Affleck quietly launched the Los Angeles–based startup in 2022 with a small team of engineers, researchers, and filmmakers. The technology is designed to help movie creators streamline technical tasks during production and post-production. According to Affleck, the AI tools can help remove stunt wires, adjust shots, improve lighting, enhance backgrounds, and recreate missed shots—essentially helping filmmakers fix problems without reshooting scenes. Affleck says the system isn’t meant to generate movies from scratch but instead works by building an AI model based on footage and material that filmmakers already created. His goal, he says, is to make the filmmaking process easier while still preserving human storytelling.
