Oscar Voter Confesses They Didn't Even Watch Half Of The Nominated Films Despite Strict New Guidelines

The Academy Awards are supposed to be the biggest honor in Hollywood, but a new confession from one of the voters is raising eyebrows just days before this year’s ceremony. An anonymous member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences admitted they haven’t watched even half of the nominated films and decided not to vote at all. The voter said their time was “too valuable” to sit through movies they already believed they wouldn’t support, and called many of the films they did see “mediocre.” That admission comes despite new rules introduced this year requiring voters to confirm they’ve watched all nominated films in a category before casting a ballot. The academy even added digital tracking through its screening system to make sure members actually watched the movies. The revelation is fueling long-running criticism that the Oscars are out of touch with audiences, with some fans accusing voters of simply choosing movies that have already won earlier awards rather than forming their own opinions. The show airs this Sunday.
