Demi Lovato is looking back at her relationship with Wilmer Valderrama — and she says it wasn’t okay. On the Baby, This Is Keke Palmer podcast, Lovato opened up about dating Valderrama from 2010 to 2016. She was 18 when they started seeing each other; he was 30. Now 33, Lovato said that when she turned 30 herself, it hit differently. In hindsight, she said, the age gap felt wrong. Host Keke Palmer related, sharing her own experience of dating older men as a teen while working in the industry. Both women talked about how being young stars made those relationships seem normal at the time — until they reached the ages their former partners had been and reevaluated everything. Palmer described it as a tough realization, saying when you get older, you sometimes recognize you were taken advantage of. Lovato agreed, questioning why she, as a teenager, was in a relationship with someone so much older. Lovato has since moved on, marrying songwriter Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in May 2025. Valderrama is engaged to Amanda Pacheco, and the couple shares two children.
