FX’s hit series The Bear will officially end with its upcoming fifth season. Sources say the decision isn’t surprising after the Season 4 storyline, where Jeremy Allen White’s character Carmy tells Syd and Richie he plans to leave the restaurant and give up his stake. The show was created by Christopher Storer, who previously envisioned wrapping the story after the main arc was completed. The series also stars Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with recurring appearances from Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon. Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Carmy’s mother, recently hinted at the ending while posting about finishing the show’s final stretch of filming. Since premiering in 2022, The Bear has been a major awards magnet, winning the Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy in 2023 while several cast members and creator Storer also picked up individual awards. Season 5 is expected to premiere later this year and will serve as the show’s final chapter.
