Scary Movie Sequel Sparks Outrage For Mocking Woke Pronouns

The trailer for Scary Movie 6 just dropped — and it’s already stirring up controversy. In the opening gag, a woman being stabbed by Ghostface on a New York subway corrects a bystander mid-attack: “Not HER! My pronouns are they/them. He stabbed THEM!” The joke has split fans straight down the middle. Critics online are calling it dated, lazy and transphobic, arguing the humor feels like a recycled culture-war punchline. Some say it’s trying too hard to shock. Others, however, are cheering it as a return to the franchise’s no-holds-barred, politically incorrect roots. The June release marks the first installment in over a decade, following 2013’s poorly received Scary Movie 5, which was the lowest-grossing entry in the series. This time around, familiar faces are back. Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and the Wayans brothers are returning, a move fans hope restores the franchise’s original bite. The film will spoof recent horror hits like Terrifier, M3GAN, Get Out, Longlegs, and Smile, aiming to revive the parody machine that once dominated the box office.
