Shia LaBeouf has been taken into custody again in New Orleans. The actor was booked into a local jail just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday on a new battery charge, according to court records. It’s not yet clear if the charge is directly tied to a Feb. 17 altercation that led to his earlier arrest, but reports say a new warrant had been issued involving an additional alleged victim from that same incident. Authorities previously said LaBeouf became aggressive at a business on Fat Tuesday and was escorted out. Witnesses claim he returned and allegedly struck one man multiple times with closed fists and punched a second man in the nose. He posted $100,000 bond after a court appearance and has been ordered to enter rehab and submit to regular drug and alcohol testing. The latest arrest comes just hours after LaBeouf gave his first interview since the initial incident, appearing on a Channel 5 segment with Andrew Callaghan. In the interview, he admitted he was drunk during the altercation and said, “I wasn’t in my right mind, so it’s on me.” He also acknowledged using language he called “not ok to say,” adding that he didn’t want to hurt anyone and was wrong for his actions. During the interview, LaBeouf made several controversial remarks about feeling uncomfortable during an encounter with three men on Fat Tuesday, comments that quickly drew backlash online. He also spoke about relocating to New Orleans after the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, citing deep family roots in the area. He briefly addressed the end of his marriage to Mia Goth, with whom he shares a daughter, saying he “failed” the marriage and needed to take accountability.
