Meet The New Class Of Rock Hall Nominees

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame dropped its 2026 ballot, and it’s loaded. Seventeen acts are up for induction, including Phil Collins, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey, Oasis, Pink, Iron Maiden, Sade, Shakira, Wu-Tang Clan and Jeff Buckley. Also on the list: The Black Crowes, Melissa Etheridge, Billy Idol, INXS, Joy Division/New Order, New Edition, and Luther Vandross. Ten of the nominees — including Collins, Hill, and Pink — are first-timers on the ballot, even though they’ve all been eligible for years. The Hall says the list reflects the “ever-evolving” sound of rock and its grip on youth culture. Translation? Rock isn’t just guitars anymore. Inductees get announced in April, with the ceremony set for the fall. Side honors will also be handed out. No word yet on who’s broadcasting or streaming the show. And yes, there could be fireworks. Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson has trashed the Hall before, while Oasis’ Liam Gallagher has mocked it — though he’s also joked he’d show up if they call his name. An induction could mean rare appearances or reunions: Phil Collins onstage again, The Black Crowes back with drummer Steve Gorman, maybe even Peter Hook rejoining his old bandmates from Joy Division/New Order for the first time in years. To qualify, artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years ago. So if your favorite band from 2001 just made the cut… welcome to feeling old.
