Martin Short’s daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Short, has died at 42. In a statement, the Short family said they are devastated and remembered Katherine for the “light and joy she brought into the world,” asking for privacy. On Monday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a Hollywood Hills home for a woman in her early 40s. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the call involved a possible suicide. TMZ first reported the news. Katherine was adopted by Short and his late wife, Nancy Dolman, who died in 2010. She is survived by her brothers, Oliver and Henry. A licensed clinical social worker, Katherine worked in private practice and with Amae Health, focusing on community outreach and mental health support. She earned degrees from New York University and University of Southern California. She largely stayed out of the spotlight but occasionally appeared alongside her father at public events.
