A reboot of The X-Files from Ryan Coogler has officially received a pilot greenlight at Hulu. Coogler is writing and directing the pilot, with Danielle Deadwyler set as co-lead. The new take follows two highly decorated but very different FBI agents who are assigned to a long-shuttered division that handles unexplained phenomena. Basically: spooky basement energy is back. Jennifer Yale has signed on as showrunner, and original series creator Chris Carter is executive producing alongside Coogler and his Proximity Media team.
